Senior Director, Medical Affairs, Neurology/CNS

United States - Remote

Location:  This position may be performed remotely, but requires the flexibility and willingness to travel as needed.

The Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity to step into a high-impact role to shape and lead Medical Affairs strategy across a growing CNS/Neurology portfolio at Praxis. 

We are seeking a Senior Director, Medical Affairs, to play a strategic leadership role spanning late-stage development through post-marketing.  This individual will have the opportunity to influence both disease-area strategy and long-term portfolio direction, with meaningful exposure to executive leadership and cross-functional teams and decision-making.  You’ll establish and maintain strong relationships with the medical and scientific community, including key opinion leaders and patient advocacy organizations, to support scientific exchange, inform strategy, and identity emerging medical and healthcare trends.

This role will focus across Neurology indications, including Epilepsy and Movement Disorders, with flexibility to align therapeutic ownership based on experience and business needs.  If you are looking for a role with true strategic ownership, internal and external visibility, and the ability to build and shape, this is a uniquely compelling opportunity.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Medical Affairs leader for Neurology, representing Praxis internally and externally with KOLs, investigators, and advocacy organizations
  • Lead the development and execution of integrated medical strategy across the product lifecycle (late-stage through post-marketing)
  • Shape disease-state strategy, scientific exchange, and evidence generation plans
  • Design and execute key initiatives including advisory boards, congress strategy and engagement, publication planning, field medical strategy
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including KOLs, academic institutions, and patient advocacy groups
  • Partner cross-functionally with Clinical Development, Commercial, Regulatory, and other key functions to ensure alignment and impact
  • Lead Investigator-Initiated Studies (IIS) and company-sponsored research strategy
  • Oversee vendors, budgets, and operational execution with a focus on quality and compliance

Qualifications and Key Success Factors

  • Advanced degree: MD/DO, PharmD, or PhD with strong relevant experience in Neurology/CNS - such as Epilepsy, Movement Disorders, or adjacent indications.
  • 10+ years of experience in Medical Affairs and/or in combination with Clinical Research, within a Biotechnology/Pharmaceutical Organization.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience at the Director or Senior Director or equivalent level, with the ability to lead strategy within Medical Affairs.
  • Proven ability to organize and lead scientific advisory panels, foster KOL relationships, and to clearly communicate complex scientific and medical information to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of U.S. regulations governing Medical Affairs activities.
  • Experience across product lifecycles, from late-stage clinical development through post-marketing strategy and safety monitoring.

To round out our world-class total rewards package, this position may be filled at either the Senior Manager or Associate Director level, depending on qualifications and business needs.
 

MD/DO Candidates:  $300,000 - $335,000 annualized
PharmD/PhD Candidates: $275,000 – $295,000 annualized     

These ranges reflect the base salary ranges the Company reasonably expects to pay for each level at the time of posting. Placement within the range will be based on job-related factors, including experience, qualifications, scope of responsibilities, and demonstrated track record of delivering results in similar roles.

Annualized Base Salary

$275,000 - $335,000 USD
