Director, Commercial Data

United States - Remote

Location:  This position may be performed remotely, but requires the flexibility and willingness to travel as needed.

The Opportunity

At Praxis, we’re building the commercial capabilities to bring transformative therapies to patients with CNS disorders—and we’re looking for builders who dare for more.

As Director, Commercial Data, you will own the strategy and build the trusted, connected, and AI-ready data foundation that powers smarter decisions, accelerates execution, and enables our commercial organization to scale through launch and beyond.

You will work at the intersection of Commercial, Data & Analytics, and IT to turn business priorities into high-impact data solutions. You will challenge conventional approaches, establish clear data governance and accountability, and ensure our teams have access to reliable, actionable insights when they need them. With a builder’s mindset and a bias for action, you will identify opportunities to leverage analytics, automation, and AI to elevate customer engagement, strengthen commercial performance, and ultimately help us deliver more for patients.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Build and continuously advance a trusted commercial data environment across customer, product, payer, patient, engagement, and other critical commercial data domains.
  • Establish the business requirements, standards, ownership, and operating model needed to ensure commercial data is connected, well-defined, high quality, accessible, and ready to support analytics and AI.
  • Advance commercial data readiness to support emerging AI capabilities.
  • Partner with business, analytics, product, and technology teams to identify high-value opportunities, define the data and business context required, and develop reusable capabilities that scale across commercial functions rather than isolated solutions.
  • Establish and lead a commercial data governance framework that ensures data is trusted, consistent, and fit for purpose across reporting, analytics, automation, and AI. Define clear data ownership, stewardship, quality standards, common definitions, hierarchies, metrics, metadata, and business rules.
  • Proactively monitor data quality, resolve issues at their root cause, and establish accountability for maintaining trusted data as the business scales.
  • Partner across Commercial, Data & Analytics, and IT to identify and prioritize opportunities where data, analytics, automation, and AI can improve decision-making and commercial execution.
  • Translate business priorities into actionable capabilities, establish clear ownership and success measures, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to drive adoption, measurable business impact, and scalable ways of working.

Qualifications and Key Success Factors

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in commercial data, analytics, commercial operations, data strategy, or related roles within pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences organizations.
  • Experience supporting pharmaceutical or biotechnology commercial operations, ideally including a product launch or significant commercial expansion.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate commercial priorities into a data strategy, capability roadmap, and investment recommendations, ideally in a launch or rapidly growing organization.
  • Experience establishing data governance, ownership, quality standards, and operating processes that improve trust in and use of data.
  • Practical understanding of AI and automation, with the ability to assess use cases, define business requirements, and evaluate value, feasibility, and responsible use.
  • Ability to partner effectively with IT, data engineering, analytics, and commercial systems teams, with sufficient technical fluency to guide business decisions and delivery priorities.
  • Strong communication and changing leadership skills, with a track record of influencing stakeholders, managing external partners, and driving adoption in a fast-moving environment.
  • The physical and mental requirements of our roles include but are not limited to regular use of a computer, devices or other office equipment, clear communication, and occasional movement. You'll need comfort with screen work, basic hand coordination, and focus. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.

Annualized Base Salary

$213,500 - $243,000 USD
