
Research Statistician

Our Evidence Synthesis and Decision Modeling team is seeking a Research Statistician to join our group of industry-leading professionals. You’ll contribute to diverse projects including systematic literature reviews, (network) meta-analyses, indirect treatment comparisons, surrogacy analyses, utility mapping, and statistical analyses of clinical trial data to demonstrate and communicate the value of new interventions for our pharma and biotech clients.

About You:
- Experienced Statistician: You have a background in statistics or a related field, with additional HEOR experience, and a solid understanding of the pharmaceutical industry. You can independently interpret clinical and real-world studies, identify considerations relevant to the synthesis of available evidence, and perform statistical analyses to help support regulatory or health technology assessment submissions.
- HEOR Research Experience: You have experience conducting survival analysis, (network) meta-analysis, population-adjusted indirect treatment comparisons, and/or advanced statistical analysis. You can evaluate studies to identify important between-study differences and work with team members to determine the most appropriate analysis method. You work with team members to analyze the data, interpret findings, and communicate results.
- Deliverable Creation: You contribute to the development of client-ready study deliverables in terms of statistical analysis plans, technical reports, peer-reviewed publications, and slides.
- Technical Proficiency: You demonstrate proficiency in statistical software such as R for data analysis, modeling, and visualization. You have strong skills in preparing written documentation and presenting results using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Effective Communicator: You can interpret and communicate study results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Project Management: You ensure timely delivery of project subcomponents and highlight resourcing constraints to the project or team lead and identify tasks where support is needed from junior team members.
- Client Management: You contribute to client management by preparing and delivering presentations of analytical results, identifying actionable next steps, and ensuring alignment with the project manager and broader team. You communicate with clients on calls and support the project lead in responding to emails.
- Mentorship: You act as a mentor for junior statisticians to provide project-specific guidance and ensure positive staff wellbeing/team dynamic.
- Business Development: You participate in the development and concept ideation for new business opportunities related to statistical methods, including communication of subject and methods-matter expertise.
Required Experience/Competencies:
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience, ideally consulting experience serving biotech, pharmaceutical or healthcare clients, with a focus on HEOR
- Master’s degree in a subject related to statistics e.g., statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, econometrics, operations research, or math
- Proficiency in R and Microsoft Office
- Willingness and desire to learn and share knowledge
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills
- Highly developed analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively individually and as part of a diverse team
Helpful Experience/Competencies:
- Experience in SAS, STATA, STAN, Matlab, R Shiny, Git/GitHub, WinBUGS/OpenBUGS/JAGS and other programs
- Experience conducting indirect treatment comparisons such as network meta-analysis, matching-adjusted indirect comparison, and simulated treatment comparison
- Experience with Bayesian statistics and advanced modeling techniques
- Experience in systematic literature reviews
- Track record of relevant peer-reviewed publications
