Senior Finance Data Analyst

Position Summary:

The Senior Finance Data Analyst plays a crucial role within the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team, focusing on creating and maintaining financial tools to deliver real-time insights into financial and operational performance. This role is pivotal in advancing business objectives by translating complex data into actionable insights through various tools, including Power BI, Alteryx, and Power Query. The Senior Finance Data Analyst requires proficiency in these tools, strong data visualization skills, and a strong understanding of core finance and accounting concepts. This position will report directly to the Finance Manager.

Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:

  • Generate, maintain, and provide real-time financial reporting and operational analytics.
  • Assist overall business objectives by providing clear and actionable financial data and analysis through a suite of tools.
  • Partner with project managers and the lab operations team to create and optimize Power BI dashboards that offer valuable insights in a self-serve workspace.
  • Collaborate with the FP&A team to streamline reporting and analytical workflows; enhance the accessibility of financial data; and continuously improve reporting and financial tools.
  • Manage and analyze large volumes of data to evaluate complex datasets and provide accurate and timely financial insights.
  • Regularly validate and audit data to maintain high standards of data quality.

Qualifications:

Minimum Required:

  • Bachelor’s Data Science/Finance or related business field
  • Strong level of comfort with accounting rules, financial concepts, and ability to optimize data management and systems
  • At least five years prior experience with Microsoft Excel, Alteryx, Power BI, & Power Query.

  • Flexibility and willingness to work on multiple assignments of varying tasks with personnel at all levels of the organization
  • Self-starting attitude with a strong desire to learn and grow rapidly
  • Willingness to extend yourself and assist other team members
  • Possesses ethics and integrity when dealing with confidential and sensitive information
  • Must be able to read, write, speak fluently, and comprehend the English language

Preferred:

  • Life Sciences experience preferred
  • Clinical trial finance experience preferred
