Position Summary:

The Senior Director, Innovation will drive implementation of Precision for Medicine’s innovation program. This role is pivotal in building and deploying solutions that enhance operational delivery and improve efficiency, fostering a culture of innovation to help bring new medicines to patients more swiftly. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of leading innovation programs, with the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable strategies for the business.

Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:

  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive innovation strategy aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives.
    • Identify emerging trends and technologies in the pharmaceutical industry to drive continuous improvement and competitive advantage.
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to integrate innovation into the overall business strategy.
  • Innovation Management:
    • Lead cross-functional teams to conceptualize, develop, and implement innovative projects and initiatives.
    • Oversee the innovation pipeline, from ideation to completion, ensuring timely and successful project delivery.
    • Foster a culture of innovative thinking, encouraging employees to contribute ideas for development.
  • Research and Development:
    • Drive the development of new methodologies, technologies, and processes to enhance Precision for Medicine’s capabilities.
    • Collaborate with external partners, including academic institutions, industry consortia, and technology providers, to leverage external expertise and resources.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards in all innovation activities.
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to improve operational efficiencies and project delivery.
    • Monitor and evaluate the performance of innovation initiatives, using data-driven insights to optimize outcomes.
    • Develop and manage budgets for innovation projects, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and regulatory bodies.
    • Measure and communicate the value and impact of innovation initiatives to internal and external audiences.
    • Represent the organization at industry conferences, workshops, and other forums to showcase innovation leadership.

Qualifications:

Minimum Required:

  • Advanced degree in life sciences discipline or equivalent experience

Other required:

  • Minimum of 18 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with a focus on innovation and research.
  • Proven track record of leading successful innovation initiatives and managing cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in a CRO or similar environment is highly desirable.

Preferred:

  • PhD

Skills:

  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and their application in pharmaceutical research.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Fluency in English
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial management.
  • Demonstrates professionalism as evidenced by punctuality, ability to deliver on commitments, and positive interactions with customers and teammates
  • Collects and analyzes data of a consistently high standard.

Travel Required

  • Domestic and internation travel including overnight stay

Precision is required by law in some states or cities to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Precision, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.  This role is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, health insurance, retirement savings benefits, life insurance and disability benefits, parental leave, and paid time off for sick leave and vacation, among other benefits.

Reasonable estimate of the current range

$160,000 - $240,000 USD
