Global Head of Payroll - Payroll Director (Remote position East Coast preferred)

Precision Medicine Group is looking for a Head of Global Payroll to join our global Finance team, which is focused on business partnership, innovation, automation, and process improvement. As the Head of Global Payroll, you will be responsible for the development and execution of the Company’s global payroll vision and strategy, while ensuring operational excellence within the team and daily processes. You will build and maintain the proper services levels and governance structures between the payroll function and other key stakeholder groups such as Operations, Human Resources, FP&A and Accounting. The role will provide value to the business by supporting and executing key process optimization opportunities and larger scale transformational programs.
This is a full-time position in our shared services function and will report to the Vice President of Accounting located in the US. 

Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:

  • Overall accountability for accurate, timely, and efficient payment of Global payroll operations.
  • Develop systems (SAP SuccessFactors and Employee Central Payroll) to process payroll account transactions (e.g. salaries, benefits, garnishments, deductions, taxes and third-party payments).
  • Establishing efficient practices for all payroll input and output requirements.
  • Develop the overall payroll strategy and manage the transformational roadmap considering the associated governance, policies, procedures, technologies, and other change management requirements.
  • Execute deployment and adoption of a global/regional payroll model, related systems and processes with local customization as needed, to aid in the quality, efficiency, and delivery of standardized processes.
  • Managing payroll financial delegated authority and adherence to approval limits.
  • Defining service expectations with the business, identifying and resolving issues impacting payroll effectiveness.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Manage external service providers engaged to execute local country payroll fund disbursement and related tax filings.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources (HR) and Accounting teams.
  • Prepare and submit reports on payroll operations to the Accounting & Finance department.
  • Adhere to payroll policies and procedures and comply with relevant law.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in timesheet and payroll records.
  • Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to senior leadership on payroll-related matters.

Qualifications: 
Minimum Required:

  • BS / BA in Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum of 10+ years progressive payroll experience operating within a multinational organization

Skills Competencies: 

Proven experience with payroll operations leadership and/or payroll process and implementation is required.

Experience with setting up or implementing a global/regional payroll aggregator and managing regional or global payroll shared service centers is required.

Strong functional knowledge of core end to end global payroll processes and procedures is required.

  • Ability to manage the complexities of a global payroll function and lead by influence, build, and foster relationships with payroll teams, human resources, finance, and other key stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a customer-centric mindset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to translate complex information in a succinct, clear manner to all levels of the organization is required.
  • Ability to assess and articulate business requirements, analyze design options, coordinate testing and drive implementation.
  • Experience with integration of new/acquired companies into acquiror payroll processes will be an asset.
  • Strong skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word).

Proven experience with Payroll systems (ideally SAP Employee Central Payroll), HR systems (ideally SAP SuccessFactors), and Microsoft365 Office suite.

This compensation range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Precision, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. This role is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, health insurance, retirement savings benefits, life insurance and disability benefits, parental leave, and paid time off for sick leave and vacation, among other benefits.

$147,055 - $175,000 USD
