Media Strategist (Healthcare Advertising)

Position Summary:

Media Strategist assists the Media and Engagement department in planning and buying of cross-channel media opportunities.

Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:

  • Actively participate and lead the media team on day-to-day tasks and financial maintenance. Responsible for status reporting, insertion order management, research, planning/buying assistance, and relationship building internally and with outside partners.
  • Create and present the media strategy defining the media objectives and strategic recommendations
  • Lead the media buy process whether in-house or with partners to deliver the final flight schedule, negotiations, timelines and specs for creative delivery.
  • Oversee and execute insertion orders. Work with project management on timing for campaign deliverables. Work with accounting department to ensure PO has been authorized by client.
  • Maintain relationships with media vendors. Proactively identify opportunities for clients. Input media vendors on campaign needs and budgets. Review vendor provided media plans for innovation, consistency with creative briefs, and budget prior to account team and client review.
  • Work with all departments: Account, Planning, Strategy, Operations and Creative to ensure media tactics reflect best practices and venue requirements.
  • Reviews agency billing, IOs, timelines, and POVs
  • Responsible for day to day Account and client conversations around active media campaigns
  • Extend internal media expertise:
    • Alert team to tradeshow/congress prospectus/media kits and researches effectiveness of available media opportunities.
    • Research media consumption habit primary research needs and resources for secondary data.
    • Assist in development of agency-wide workshops/seminars to increase the collective media IQ.
  • Manage day-to-day media activities
  • Work with account managers, assisting in development of project briefs for all media tactics.
  • Maintain tracking codes. Works with CRM, Interactive and Metrics leads to ensure proper tracking and programming for media assets.
  • Review media and metrics reports and offers recommendations.
  • Work with Associate Media Director and Account teams for SOW for clients.

Qualifications:

Minimum Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3-4 years of experience in media planning

Other Required:

May require travel domestically and/or internationally including overnight stays

Preferred:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Knowledge and use of media platforms such as SRDS, Kantar, Nielson, etc.
  • Experience working with digital and 3rd party platforms
  • Industry credentials

This compensation range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Precision, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.  This role is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, health insurance, retirement savings benefits, life insurance and disability benefits, parental leave, and paid time off for sick leave and vacation, among other benefits.

Reasonable estimate of the current range

$68,000 - $90,000 USD
