
Payroll Manager
As we grow globally, we are looking to hire an experienced Payroll Manager. This is a fully remote role in Costa Rica, and will support our North and South American teams. An ideal candidate will have a background with automated payroll systems (SAP is a strong plus) and two years of employee management experience. Our team is collaborative with a continuous improvement mindset, and this will be a growth opportunity.
Summary
- Oversee all aspects of payroll administration.
- Ensure accurate and timely delivery of employee wages.
- Maintaining payroll time and absence systems for over 2500 employees in US/Canada
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll wage and hour laws; best practices.
- Maintain and update payroll records and systems.
- Review and verify payroll data, including timekeeping records, deductions, and benefits.
- Prepare and submit payroll reports to internal and external stakeholders.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee payroll-related questions.
- Coordinate with HR and Finance teams on employee compensation, benefits, and tax matters.
- Lead payroll audits and ensure accurate tax filings (e.g., W-2s, T4s).
- Implement and maintain payroll policies and procedures.
- Train and supervise payroll staff
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
REQUIREMENTS
- 7+ years of payroll experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of confidentiality and attention to detail.
- In-depth understanding of payroll regulations and tax laws.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent payroll experience.
- CPP certification is a plus, but not required.
- Strong knowledge of SAP Success Factors ECP, ADP SAP Globalview or Workday is a plus.
- Familiarity with automated HRIS/ time and absence systems
- Experience running managed payroll vendor models, processing payroll(s) from end-to-end
