About the Role
As a Senior Strategic Account Director, you will serve as the lead strategic partner for a portfolio of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and healthcare clients. You will be responsible for developing annual strategic plans, guiding integrated programs, and ensuring all work aligns with client business objectives while being executed on time and within budget. In addition to overseeing day-to-day client relationships, you will lead internal account teams, providing mentorship, coaching, and professional development support to Strategic Account Directors, Strategic Account Managers, and Strategic Account Associates.
This role requires a balance of strategic leadership, business development, and operational excellence. You will identify opportunities for growth within existing accounts, participate in new business initiatives and pitches, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to maximize value for both clients and Precision AQ. Success in this role means becoming an indispensable extension of your clients’ teams while helping drive the continued growth and success of the organization.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare marketing, medical affairs, or medical communications agency environments.
- Demonstrated success managing and growing pharmaceutical or healthcare accounts with annual revenues exceeding $2.5 million.
- Proven experience serving as a strategic and business advisor to senior marketing, commercial, or medical affairs stakeholders.
- Strong leadership experience overseeing, mentoring, and developing account management professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, forecast revenue, and contribute to business profitability.
Helpful Experience
- Advanced degree (PhD, MD, PharmD, MBA, or related graduate degree) preferred.
- Experience supporting or leading new business development efforts, including pitches and proposal development.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical and biotech medical communications strategies and commercial planning.
- Advanced presentation development and PowerPoint design capabilities.
