What You’ll Do

Diagnosing and repairing power plants and drivetrains on Freightliner and Volvo vehicles.
Inspecting, diagnosing, adjusting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and engine systems, including diesel engines and passenger vans.
Diagnosing and repairing vehicle brake systems.
Performing fabrication and welding tasks as required.
Replacing vehicle lights and charging A/C systems as needed.
Repairing loading docks and related equipment as necessary.
Flexibility to adapt to various tasks and duties as assigned by supervisors to support operational needs.

Candidate Requirements


We are seeking a self-motivated and collaborative Heavy Duty Mechanic. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic along with respect for people and our policies and values.


Certifications:
  • State Heavy Duty Mechanic certification (required).
  • Master Heavy Duty Mechanic certification (preferred).
  • Welding certification and experience (preferred).
Experience:
  • Dealer-level experience (preferred).
  • Maintenance experience with Freightliner and Volvo vehicles (required).
  • Car hauler maintenance experience (required).
Skills:
  • Strong engine, electrical, and diagnostic skills (required).
  • Ability to diagnose and repair engine and electrical problems
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and identifying the root cause of system or component failures.
  • Effective teamwork skills, including collaboration with teams across multiple company locations.
  • Ability to follow work instructions with attention to detail and understanding.

Licensing and Driving Requirements:
  • Current and valid driver’s license (required).
  • CDL A or CDL B (preferred).
  • Must pass a driver’s license check with no more than 4 points, no drug- or alcohol-related convictions, and no suspensions within the last 3 years.
Other Requirements:
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
 
Physical Demands of the Job

Work in various indoor and outdoor environments, including proximity to hazardous materials, loud noise, and/or extreme temperatures.
Maintain stationary positions for extended durations as needed.
Move about frequently on concrete and uneven surfaces for extended periods.
Comfortably wear personal protective equipment.
Frequently navigate a busy environment.
Frequently carry, lift, move, push, and/or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
Perform various manual tasks, including reaching with hands and arms, ascending or descending ladders safely at heights of 10 feet or more, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, bending, twisting, and repetitive movements.
Operate vehicles or mobile equipment as required.
The employee must be able to grip and pinch with both hands and use various hand tools.
Demonstrate visual acuity and physical dexterity essential for performing the duties associated with the role.

Additional Information


A person applying for this position must be available to work full-time, weekends, nights, or an on-call schedule when necessary.
As an employee, you will be responsible for retaining a valid driver's license, free from any drug or alcohol-related driving convictions or reckless driving and always remain “insurable” while operating company owned or controlled vehicles.

Compensation Range

$30 - $36 USD
