Senior Accountant
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing team. The Senior Accountant is responsible for tracking, analyzing, and reporting project-related costs to ensure accurate financial control across construction projects. This role works closely with project managers, operations, and finance to monitor budgets, manage job cost reporting, and support timely and accurate financial close.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and analyze job cost records for multiple construction projects
- Track project budgets, commitments, and actual costs; identify variances and trends
- Prepare monthly job cost reports, work-in-progress (WIP) schedules, and profitability analyses
- Reconcile job cost subledgers to the general ledger
- Review and process subcontractor invoices, change orders, and cost allocations
- Weekly posting of labor cost to jobs
- Assist with revenue recognition and percentage-of-completion calculations
- Support project forecasting and cash flow analysis
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate cost coding and financial reporting
- Assist with audits, internal controls, and compliance with accounting standards
- Contribute to month-end and year-end close processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or project-based environments
- Strong understanding of job cost accounting and WIP reporting
- Proficiency with construction accounting software (e.g., Sage, Procore, or similar)
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems preferred
- Knowledge of GAAP and construction accounting principles

Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or progress toward certification
- Public Accounting Experience – minimum of 2 years
- Experience with large-scale or multi-project construction environments
- Familiarity with lien waivers, retainage, and contract types (GMP, T&M, lump sum)
