Outside Sales Representative

Premier Automation is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to join our Alpharetta, GA team, where you will drive business development efforts across the Southeastern U.S. by building relationships, identifying customer challenges, and creating opportunities for our engineering team to deliver automation solutions.   • Position Type: Full-time, salaried position (non-commission-based)
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday with flexibility based on customer needs and travel
  • Location & Work Environment: Based in Alpharetta, GA, working in a field-based, customer-facing role with regular visits to industrial facilities
  • Team & Reporting: Reports to the Facility Operations Manager, with close collaboration alongside the engineering team to support customer opportunities

Duties and Responsibilities

As an Outside Sales Representative, you will:

 

  • Prospect new leads through cold calls, networking, and industry events while strengthening existing customer relationships
  • Develop and expand Premier Automation’s customer base across the Southeastern territory, with a strong focus on Georgia
  • Conduct in-person visits, plant tours, and site evaluations to understand customer operations and identify potential opportunities
  • Build rapport with plant managers, maintenance leaders, and operations teams through active listening and thoughtful questions
  • Identify automation and control system challenges and help validate opportunities for further technical engagement
  • Coordinate and schedule discovery meetings with internal engineering and operations teams to develop solutions
  • Maintain CRM data, sales pipelines, and weekly activity reports
  • Manage your territory, priorities, and outreach strategy independently with minimal supervision
  • Represent Premier Automation with professionalism and a customer-focused approach in all interactions

 

 

Experience and Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

 

  • Minimum of 3 years of outside sales experience in industrial, electrical, or manufacturing environments
  • Experience selling physical products, equipment, or industrial solutions
  • Comfortable working in industrial environments such as manufacturing plants, process facilities, or similar settings
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to quickly build trust and relationships
  • Self-motivated and organized, with the ability to manage a territory independently
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn technical concepts related to automation, controls, and drive systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Experience working with or selling into industrial automation, controls, or electrical systems environments
  • Exposure to PLCs, HMIs, drives (VFDs), or related industrial technologies
  • Experience using CRM tools to manage sales activity and customer relationships
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related field (or equivalent experience)
