Key Responsibilities

As an Automation Engineer, your role will include:

  • Design, develop, and implement SCADA and HMI systems for industrial automation projects
  • Integrate SCADA/HMI systems with PLCs and industrial control hardware
  • Provide hands-on technical expertise for configuring, troubleshooting, and optimizing HMI systems
  • Work directly with industrial control systems, including hardware, sensors, control panels, and motor drives
  • Collaborate on system designs, control packages, and operator interfaces to meet customer specifications
  • Engage with customers to assess needs and deliver tailored industrial automation solutions
  • Perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) to ensure seamless functionality in real-world applications
  • Coordinate with internal teams, technicians, and shop personnel to ensure smooth execution of automation projects

 

 

Experience and Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related technology field
  • Minimum of 2 years experience designing, programming, and implementing HMI and SCADA systems in industrial environments
  • Proficiency in Ignition® SCADA/HMI development
  • Experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, or automation environment is required (not software development or IT automation)
  • Ability to integrate SCADA systems with PLCs, field hardware, and industrial networks
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for industrial control system integration
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to work in industrial settings, including standing, kneeling, bending, navigating tight spaces, and lifting up to 50 lbs as needed
  • Flexibility to travel up to 30% and work on-call as needed
  • Bonus: Experience with Siemens or Rockwell PLCs

 

 

This is not a software development or office automation role. Candidates must have hands-on experience with industrial control systems, PLCs, and field hardware integration.
