Key Responsibilities

As a Control Panel Electrician, you will:

  • Assemble, wire, and troubleshoot electrical control panels
  • Layout and organize enclosures and subpanels
  • Install and mount devices onto panels according to specifications
  • Read and interpret electro-mechanical diagrams and identify component functions
  • Wire equipment according to electrical schematics
  • Verify components against the bill of materials for accuracy
  • Apply appropriate connection methods to the equipment being assembled
  • Arrange circuitry within panels to ensure proper voltage separation
  • Use basic computer skills to operate tagging machines and related systems
  • Troubleshoot equipment, assemblies, and wiring issues
  • Work under the mentorship of a dedicated shop trainer to ensure your success

 

 

Experience and Qualifications

What You’ll Bring:

We are seeking candidates with entry-level to mid-level experience, making this an ideal opportunity for those just starting their careers or ready to expand their control panel assembly and wiring skills.

  • Associate Degree in Electrical Technology (or a related field) or equivalent experience in control panel construction, plus a high school diploma
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Proficiency in wiring panel devices according to schematics, using voltage meters and hand tools
  • Skill in operating wire crimpers/strippers and reading measurements from rulers, T-squares, and tape measures
  • Familiarity with variable frequency drives, reduced voltage starters, motor starters, and PLCs is a plus

 

Physical Demands of the Role:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching required
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Capable of performing repetitive motions, including wiring and assembly tasks
  • Ability to work with small components and tools for extended periods

 

 

In this role, developing the ability to interpret blueprints, visualize finished products, and identify or correct errors in circuitry is key to achieving precise and efficient results.
