Duties and Responsibilities
As a Junior Mechanical Engineer, you will:
- Assist in designing robotic systems and cells that integrate industrial robots, vision systems, conveyors, and actuators
- Support the development of custom end-of-arm tooling and fixtures
- Create detailed 3D CAD models and assembly drawings in SolidWorks or similar CAD software
- Collaborate with senior engineers on quoting and concepting robotic systems
- Help prepare technical quotes and customer proposals in coordination with Sales and Engineering
- Support project execution and contribute to successful project completion
- Communicate with customers to gather technical requirements and assist with solution development
- Coordinate internally to align on customer expectations and project timelines
- Contribute design ideas and participate in brainstorming system improvements
Experience and Qualifications
What You’ll Bring:
- 2–5 years of mechanical design experience, ideally involving robotic systems or cells
- Solid proficiency in SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Detail-oriented and team-focused
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME), Mechanical Engineering Technology (BMET), or Mechatronics Engineering
- Exposure to robotic cell/system design
- Familiarity with robots such as Fanuc, ABB, Yaskawa, or Universal Robots
- Some experience in quoting or concepting robotic solutions
- Competence with Microsoft Office Suite
