Job Details and Perks for an Associate Automation Engineer:

  • Industrial Automation Focus: Take on a full-time, salaried role driving automation projects in the Greater Alpharetta, GA area.  Including the standardized drives products produced in the Alpharetta location.

Key Responsibilities
As an Associate Automation Engineer, you will:

  • Specialize in Siemens systems: Lead the design, implementation, programming, and commissioning of industrial projects primarily utilizing Siemens hardware.
  • Learn the basics of programing and troubleshooting Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs, HMIs, and Drive systems
  • Work hands-on with industrial automation hardware, including control panels, instrumentation, and motor control systems
  • Project Engineering/Management: Developing an accurate Bill Of Materials, monitoring the supply chain, coordinating with the customer’s feedback, maintaining project schedule with respect to Drawing and BOM revisions.
  • Perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) to ensure system functionality
  • Troubleshoot, modify, and optimize panel configurations and develop an intimate knowledge of UL508A for proper component sizing & selection, conductor sizing, or other customer requirements
  • Coordinate with internal teams and assist with various production testing and tasks.

 

 

Experience and Qualifications
What You’ll Bring:

  • Associates degree in; Electrical Engineering technology, Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering technology, or a related technology field.
  • Prefer a bachelor’s degree in an engineering or technology field, or equivalent experience.
  • Basic understanding of PLC and HMI programming, or understanding of a computer programing language such as C, C++, Python, with desire to learn more
  • willing to work in a manufacturing, heavy industry environment following all site stipulated safety requirements.  (not software development or office automation)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in industrial control systems
  • focused, methodical and detail oriented workflow, and ability to collaborate in a team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to work in industrial settings, including standing, kneeling, bending, navigating tight spaces, and lifting up to 50 lbs. as needed
  • Flexibility to travel up to 25%, work on-call, and accommodate off-shift hours, including evenings, nights, and weekends as required.

This is not a software development or office automation role—candidates must have hands-on experience with industrial control systems, PLCs, and field hardware integration.
