Robotics Technician

Build your technical foundation through hands-on work in industrial robotics and automation. We’re seeking a Robotics Technician to support the build, programming, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of industrial robotic systems used in real-world manufacturing environments. This role is designed for candidates with an Associate’s degree or equivalent hands-on experience who are eager to develop a long-term technical career through hands-on work, mentorship, and exposure to live automation projects.

 

This role is open to early-career and mid-level candidates with a strong technical foundation and prior hands-on exposure to robotics or automation through internships, co-ops, lab work, academic projects, or previous technical roles. While we provide training and on-the-job learning, candidates should already be comfortable working in hands-on technical environments.

  • Position Type: Full-time, salaried (based on experience), with overtime eligibility
  • Location & Work Environment: Based out of our Monroeville and Murrysville, PA facilities, with time split between hands-on shop work, system testing, and customer sites
  • Schedule & Travel: Monday–Friday, daylight hours with flexibility; some travel for system startup, field support, and service work (typically local or regional); overtime eligible
  • Team & Reporting: Work within the Robotics & Automation group, supporting engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams
  • Growth & Advancement: Build experience with industrial robots (Fanuc and similar platforms), robot programming, troubleshooting, EOAT, and system startup while receiving mentorship and expanding technical responsibility over time

Duties and Responsibilities

As a Robotics Technician, you will:

 

  • Support the installation, setup, and checkout of industrial robotic systems in shop and field environments
  • Assist with robot programming, testing, and debugging under guidance from engineers and senior technicians
  • Support system startup and commissioning activities to ensure systems operate safely and as designed
  • Troubleshoot robotic, mechanical, electrical, and automation-related issues
  • Assist with EOAT installation, robot dress-out, and system integration
  • Perform testing, data collection, and documentation during system checkout and commissioning
  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, manufacturing teams, and customers throughout project execution
  • Travel to customer sites for startup and service support as required

 

 

Experience and Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

 

  • Associate’s degree in Robotics, Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electro-Mechanical Technology, or a related technical field
  • Hands-on exposure to robotics or automation systems through coursework, labs, internships, co-ops, or prior technical roles
  • Familiarity with industrial robots (Fanuc experience is a strong plus)
  • Basic understanding of robot programming concepts, automation systems, or industrial equipment
  • Ability to read mechanical, electrical, or pneumatic drawings, or a strong desire to learn
  • Experience using hand and power tools in technical or industrial environments
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Comfort working in hands-on industrial and shop environments
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform moderate physical activity
  • Willingness to travel locally for field support and startup work
  • Must have or be able to obtain valid travel documents (REAL ID and passport)

 

Nice to Have (Not Required)

 

  • Direct experience with Fanuc robots, teach pendants, or RobotGuide
  • Exposure to PLCs, HMIs, or industrial control systems
  • Experience with EOAT, conveyors, or integrated automation systems
  • Familiarity with multimeters or basic electrical test equipment
