Job Details and Perks for a Sales Engineer:

  • Job Type: Full-time, salaried position (non-commission)
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday with flexibility to accommodate travel and customer schedules
  • Location: Reports to our Monroeville, PA office, with regular travel throughout the tri-state and greater Northeast region. Most travel will be day trips, with overnight stays expected around 10–15%

Key Duties and Responsibilities

In this role, you will

  • Manage and grow existing customer accounts by building strong, long-term relationships
  • Analyze customer requirements and recommend tailored automation and engineering solutions
  • Prepare technical proposals and detailed quotations that align with customer needs
  • Provide both pre-sales and post-sales technical support, including follow-up and troubleshooting
  • Collaborate closely with internal engineering teams to ensure seamless design, quoting, and implementation of solutions
  • Visit customer sites regularly to understand needs, verify design requirements, and strengthen partnerships
  • Participate in industry conferences, trainings, and trade shows to expand product knowledge and promote company capabilities

 

 

Experience and Qualifications

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering—or equivalent technical experience
  • 2–5 years of experience in technical sales, systems integration, or automation engineering
  • Strong understanding of industrial control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, drives, and/or robotics
  • Ability to develop technical proposals and confidently explain engineering solutions to customers
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; capable of building rapport with engineers, operators, and executive-level decision-makers
  • Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office tools
  • Comfortable visiting customer facilities and participating in field-based work (travel up to 40%)
