Premier Automation is hiring a Robotic Field Service Technician to join our team in Monroeville, PA. We’re a full-service automation integrator specializing in custom electrical control solutions—including robotics, drives, and industrial systems—for manufacturers across North America.
We’re looking for a technician with strong troubleshooting skills and hands-on robotics experience to service and maintain advanced systems in the field. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working directly with customers, and staying at the forefront of robotic technology.
In this role, you’ll travel to customer sites to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain robotic systems from top OEMs like FANUC, ABB, and KUKA. You’ll also help ensure safe and efficient system operation, complete service reports, and train operators on basic robotic care—all while building your career in a fast-growing field.

- Schedule: Monday–Friday during standard business hours with regular field travel; includes on-call support for field service needs, which may involve evening or weekend hours

Duties and Responsibilities
In the role, you will:
- Diagnose faults on robotic arms (e.g., FANUC, ABB, KUKA)
- Perform preventive maintenance and system calibration
- Execute software updates and maintain system backups
- Replace worn or damaged components, including motors, encoders, and controllers
- Interface with automation and drive systems to support overall functionality
- Provide detailed service documentation and clear customer-facing reports
- Train operators on basic maintenance tasks and safety protocols
- Serve as a key point of contact for customers during service calls, maintaining professionalism and clear communication throughout each visit
- Complete accurate service records and reports to document field service calls and provide feedback to internal teams
Experience and Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Hands-on experience with industrial robots and teach pendant programming
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics
- Understanding of robotic safety protocols (e.g., ANSI/RIA standards)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to operate standard hand tools and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to represent the company professionally during on-site service visits
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree in a related technical field such as Electrical Technology, Engineering Technology, Robotics, or similar discipline strongly preferred
- OEM robot training certifications (FANUC, ABB, etc.)
- Experience with PLCs and I/O systems
- 3+ years of experience in industrial automation or robotics
