  • Position Type: Full-time, salaried role
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday daylight schedule (example: 8:00am–4:30pm)
  • Reporting Structure: Reports to the Electro-Mechanical Design Manager; collaborates with cross-functional teams across both Monroeville HQ and our Murrysville Innovation Hub
  • Work Environment: Primarily office-based with regular involvement in our clean, temperature-controlled shop locations to support design validation and project execution

Duties and Responsibilities

As an Electro-Mechanical Design Associate, you will:

 

  • Design and draft detailed cabinet layouts, subpanel configurations, bus bar designs, and bills of materials (BOMs) using AutoCAD Electrical or similar CAD software
  • Ensure designs align with project specifications, functional requirements, and quality standards
  • Collaborate with project managers, design engineers, and cross-functional teams to support smooth project execution
  • Verify compliance with electrical codes and industry standards throughout the design process
  • Assist in developing and maintaining standardized design procedures to drive efficiency and consistency
  • Review existing electrical design practices and recommend improvements where applicable
  • Stay informed on new technologies and innovations to continually enhance design effectiveness

 

 

Experience and Qualifications
What You’ll Bring:

 

  • A 2-year degree in Engineering Technology, Electro-Mechanical Technology, Mechatronics, CAD/Drafting & Design, or a related field
  • Two or more years of relevant professional experience in electro-mechanical design, drafting, or a related field preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and support control panel component selection
  • Familiarity with electrical standards such as UL508A and NFPA70 (NEC)
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate and compliant design documentation
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to support project success
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines

 

Preferred Strengths:

  • Experience working in manufacturing, systems integration, or industrial automation environments
  • Knowledge of CAD tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, or EPLAN
