Accountant
Cumbrian Water are looking for a highly motivated Accountant to join their team!
The Accountant role is responsible for managing financial data, preparing and analysing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles. In this role, you will be handling bookkeeping tasks, processing invoices, and assisting with financial audits.
Key responsibilities
- Managing financial data and maintaining accurate records of financial transactions
- Preparing financial statements, reports, and budgets to assist in decision-making processes
- Ensuring compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and company policies
- Handling accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, including processing invoices and payments
- Assisting with financial audits and coordinating with auditors to provide necessary documentation
- Reconciling bank statements and monitoring cash flow to ensure financial stability
- Conducting regular financial analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement
- Collaborating with other departments and stakeholders to provide financial insights and support business objectives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA certification (or working towards qualification)
- Ability to perform financial analysis and reporting using accounting software and MS Excel
- Strong understanding of UK accounting principles and regulatory frameworks
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders and colleagues
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Additional Information
- Location: Penrith, Cumbria (Hybrid working available)
- Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 per annum, depending on experience
- Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
- Work Authorization: Must have the right to work in the UK
