Job Overview.

The Strategic Account Manager is responsible for managing and enhancing the relationships with key strategic suppliers. This role is responsible for leading executive-level relationships, driving platform adoption, delivering measurable business outcomes, and ensuring that our Preferred Supplier network realizes maximum strategic value from their partnership with Prendio.

As the primary point of contact and trusted advisor to a portfolio of key suppliers, the Strategic Account Manager will develop and execute comprehensive account strategies, lead commercial negotiations, manage renewals and expansions, and ensure supplier success through exceptional service, collaboration, and value delivery. This individual will partner closely with internal stakeholders — including Sales, Customer Success, Product, Finance, and Marketing-to deliver solutions that deepen engagement, grow revenue, and strengthen the long-term strategic value of each partnership. Experience working in a private equity or venture capital-backed environment is also preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Supplier Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary executive contact for a portfolio of Prendio’s highest-value and most strategically significant supplier accounts.
  • Build and maintain trusted, long-term partnerships with senior-level stakeholders, aligning on shared business objectives and ensuring sustained engagement.
  • Act as a strategic advisor, proactively identifying opportunities for growth, collaboration, and innovation to expand the partnership.
  • Lead quarterly and annual business planning with suppliers, translating goals into actionable initiatives that deliver measurable results.
  • Manage and resolve escalations quickly and effectively to protect and strengthen supplier relationships.

 Commercial Ownership & Negotiation

  • Lead all aspects of contract negotiations, renewals, and commercial discussions, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes that support revenue growth and long-term retention.
  • Proactively manage renewal cycles, identifying opportunities for expansion and new initiatives that drive incremental value.
  • Support pricing and proposal development in partnership with Sales and Finance, leveraging data and performance insights to inform negotiations.

Value Delivery & Growth Strategy

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans that optimize spend, increase market exposure, and expand revenue opportunities for supplier partners.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver programs and initiatives that enhance supplier visibility — including promotional campaigns, product placement, and new logo acquisition strategies.
  • Represent the voice of the supplier internally, providing strategic insights and feedback to inform product development, marketing initiatives, and partnership strategy.
  • Oversee and communicate key performance metrics, ROI, and value-delivered outcomes to supplier stakeholders through regular business reviews and executive presentations.

Supplier Success & Account Health

  • Monitor and analyze account performance data to identify risks, opportunities, and trends, proactively implementing strategies to drive retention and growth.
  • Partner with onboarding and implementation teams to ensure a seamless and impactful supplier onboarding experience.
  • Own the preparation and delivery of Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and ongoing executive check-ins, ensuring clear alignment on goals, performance, and next-step action plans.

Operational Excellence & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all supplier interactions, performance data, and strategic initiatives within the CRM system.
  • Provide regular reporting and executive-level briefings on account performance, strategic outcomes, and partnership opportunities.
  • Support financial and operational excellence through quarterly invoice reviews, performance analyses, and joint go-to-market planning.

Qualifications:

  • 7–10+ years of experience in strategic account management, supplier partnerships, or enterprise client relationship management, preferably within B2B SaaS, procurement, or life sciences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Science, Supply Chain, or a related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven success managing executive-level relationships and driving strategic initiatives with large, complex accounts.
  • Demonstrated expertise in contract negotiation, renewal management, and commercial deal structuring.
  • Strong track record of delivering measurable business outcomes and communicating ROI and value delivery to senior stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and executive-influence skills, with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder dynamics.
  • Strong analytical and business acumen, with experience using data to guide strategy and decision-making.
  • Collaborative and strategic mindset with experience working cross-functionally to deliver solutions and execute joint business plans.
  • Self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and takes ownership to move things forward
  • Highly adaptable and comfortable balancing strategy with tactical execution
  • Familiarity with tools like HubSpot, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, and Google Analytics a plus
  • Team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • You are in love with change and enjoy being in a high-growth environment that is rapidly scaling.
  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and can carve out a path to a solution using informal influence and your art and intuition.
  • You’re an entrepreneur and think of the word NO as the next option. You see opportunity everywhere, welcome mistakes as experience on your leadership journey, and greet adversity as an opportunity to show resistance and showcase your problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced/changing environment.
  • Ability to work through ambiguity and adapt quickly as priorities shift in a growing, fast-moving environment
