About Presence
Presence is the leading provider of teletherapy solutions for children with diverse needs. Through our award-winning technology, Presence connects speech-language pathologists, school psychologists, occupational therapists, and mental health specialists to schools, districts, and organizations nationwide. Our growing network of 2,000+ clinicians has delivered over 7 million teletherapy sessions to K-12 students.
We are a remote-first, distributed workforce of 200+ corporate employees, headquartered in New York. We place a high value on “cameras on” engagement, schedule coordination, and cross-functional communication to stay connected with each other when working in different places. Many roles require travel to create opportunities to engage in-person with our school partners, our clinicians, and each other.
What Will You Do at Presence?
Presence is seeking detail-oriented, tech-comfortable Smart Start Specialists to join our team on a temporary basis to support the implementation of our teletherapy services in school districts across the country.
Smart Start Specialists are responsible for onsite support at school locations during the critical back-to-school season. In this role, you will prepare school sites for the launch of Presence’s virtual therapy services by setting up equipment, coordinating with onsite staff, and providing hands-on training to school personnel. This position is ideal for professionals who enjoy travel, are highly organized, and thrive when working independently in dynamic environments.
Primary Responsibilities
- Travel to school sites across the U.S. to prepare them for Presence’s online therapy services
- Set up physical spaces and ensure proper placement of equipment to support teletherapy best practices
- Configure therapy computers and equipment; run tech checks and coordinate with school-based IT teams
- Lead onboarding sessions with paraprofessional staff, walking them through the Presence platform, login procedures, communication best practices, and basic troubleshooting
- Provide orientation for school administrators, highlighting platform tools including student attendance tracking, provider information, schedules, and support resources
- Collaborate with internal Presence teams (Operations, Technical Support, Clinical) to ensure smooth and timely implementations
- Document site visits and flag any issues for follow-up
What Are We Looking For?
- Experience in school environments, customer support, or onboarding/training roles strongly preferred
- Tech-comfortable and confident in explaining tools, troubleshooting logins, and navigating web-based platforms
- Organized, detail-focused, and able to manage logistics across multiple sites
- Proven ability to problem-solve, adapt in real time, and work independently in new environments
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills, especially with educators and administrators
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working in a structured and task-oriented environment
- Availability for up to full-time travel is required. While some weeks will involve multi-day site visits, there may also be weeks where no travel or work is scheduled.
- Ability to travel between schools within a district, including same-day visits to multiple sites
- Valid driver’s license required — candidates must be comfortable driving rental vehicles between school sites
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
- Comfortable lifting, carrying, and setting up light equipment (up to ~25 lbs)
Where is this position located?
This is a remote position with nationwide travel. Candidates should be located within approximately one hour of a major airport to enable efficient travel to school sites. We are hiring across multiple U.S. time zones, with particular need in Florida, Texas and the Northeastern United States.
