The Position

The Director, Corporate Communications, will be accountable for developing and implementing various communications strategies to advance our business goals and overarching core narrative – with an emphasis on proactive storytelling to convey our message in meaningful ways across all stakeholder groups. This will include collaborating internally and across operating companies to ensure a unified, data-driven approach to communications. The successful candidate must be a collaborative team player who is resourceful, proactive, detail-oriented and have a strong ability to problem solve / multi-task. The role will report to the Senior Managing Director, Corporate Affairs, based in New York.

Key Responsibilities

  • Continue to evolve foundational narrative of Pretium to guide storytelling and strategic communications across stakeholder groups and channels
  • Develop and execute integrated strategic communications plans across Pretium and operating companies to promote business and brand objectives
  • Draft and maintain key communications documents (talking points, FAQs, fact sheets, press releases, etc.)
  • Manage top-tier business, investment, trade and industry media relationships
  • Proactive pitch and reactively manage stories to further business and brand objectives
  • Prepare company spokespeople for media engagements
  • Manage flow of daily inbound and outbound engagement with media
  • Oversee daily monitoring of news about Pretium, OpCos and the broader industry
  • Work closely with Operating Company communications teams on messaging, media strategy, speaking and other public events, to-all internal communications, etc.
  • Work closely with Pretium Human Capital on internal communications

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in English, communications, journalism or related field. Master’s degree a plus.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations with a focus on external engagement in real estate (residential preferred) and/or financial services.
  • Proven ability to devise and execute communications strategies.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including the ability to work collaboratively, communicate on behalf of the Corporate Affairs team and firm as needed, and the ability to influence and drive an agenda.
  • Strong network within the media and real estate or financial services industry, with experience in managing media relations.
  • Experience in crisis communication and reputation management.
  • Proficient in digital communication tools and social media platforms.

    • The actual salary will depend on various factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s experience and credentials, salary expectations of applicable candidates, and other applicable market conditions.
