About the team

The team owns and runs the online marketplace of car/home/health insurance and energy switch products. At the same time, the product team is the nexus of all Pricefox functions. Operations, marketing, finance, all rely on the team for tools, data, edification, insights and decision making. This is the team that conceived and brought online the best product introduced in 2024.

 

What you’ll do

As a Junior Frontend Engineer of Product, you’ll work on the platform that directly impacts all Pricefox users. You'll have a hand in the entirety of our web stack, starting with the frontend experience.



Responsibilities

  • Work alongside our Product Manager to drive the design and development of new features and verticals.
  • Build, maintain and improve each vertical’s frontend.
  • Expand and enhance our test suite.
  • Optimize and secure the infrastructure.

 

Who you are

We are looking for someone who has at least 1 year of experience on the web platform. Having some kind of expertise (for example: excellent css, basic knowledge of vue routing, react hooks) is considered a bonus. Knowing how to use LLM’s to help you through the grunt work is appreciated.

 

You may be a fit if you

  • Are really great at working with HTML and CSS.
  • Grok that HTMX solves 90% of the problem.
  • Are comfortable both in object oriented and functional development.
  • Are obsessed with product quality but,
  • Also understand that timely shipping always trumps perfection.

In-office expectations

You are expected to spend at least 40-50% of the time in a given month in the office, though we’re usually flexible.

 

Interview process

You should expect two sessions with our Tech Lead: one on getting to know each other, discussing company values and goals, showcasing your work, and presenting a take-at-home aptitude test (duration ~1hr); then a second one where you’ll present your approach on the test (duration < 1hr), discuss trade-offs and interesting implementation details. After that, you’ll take an online, at your own pace and setting, short talent and personality test (~1hr), which you’ll get to expand on with our CEO (~1hr).
