Co-op Assignment Overview
Prime Medicine is seeking a diligent, motivated, and enthusiastic co-op for the Spring 2025 cycle who has experience and interest in analytical technologies including HPLC and capillary electrophoresis to join the analytical development (AD) team. The successful candidate will be able to participate in the development of separation-based methods for Prime Editor delivery platform and work cross-functionally to advance the Prime pipeline. There will be also many valuable opportunities to participate in other projects that are crucial to the success of in vivo and ex vivo gene editing therapeutic drug development.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of assays to support companywide analytical needs for the analysis of therapeutic biomolecules, e.g., lipid nanoparticle (LNP), and adeno-associated virus (AAV) drug products and their components.
- Assist in developing ideas for new methods or experiments, and implementing new techniques.
- Separation-based method development to assess AAV/LNP characterization.
- Biophysical measurement of AAV/LNP drug products.
- Provide analytical support for cell therapy development as needed.
- Data analysis, interpretation, and presentation within the team.
Qualifications:
- B.S. or M.S. candidate in biochemistry, chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of separation sciences and technologies.
- Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Skilled in documenting findings and activities in comprehensive reports and ensuring proper inventory of materials and analytical equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with LC-MS and capillary electrophoresis is preferred.
- Understanding of flow cytometry principles.
- Experience with biophysical techniques (e.g., DLS) is preferred.
- Previous co-op experience in biotechnology industry.
- Independently motivated, detail-oriented, and excellent problem-solving abilities.
