Spring 2025 Co-op: Hematology & Immunology

Co-Op Assignment Overview

Prime Medicine is seeking a co-op for the Spring 2025 cycle with knowledge in cell and molecular biology to join the Hematology and Immunology team. The qualified candidate will work hands-on with a highly collaborative, fast-paced project team to validate promising Prime Editors for hematological indications. In this position, you will learn and perfect cell and molecular biology skills and develop a deep understanding of gene editing and hematopoietic stem cell and T cell biology. Primary

Responsibilities:

  • Aseptic culture of primary human T cells and hematopoietic cells
  • Preparing primary immune and hematopoietic stem cell samples for flow cytometry assays
  • Preparing protein samples from Prime Edited primary human hematopoietic cells and running Western blots
  • Processing samples for genomic DNA isolation and subsequent DNA sequencing analysis (extraction, PCR, MiSeq preprocessing)
  • Data analysis, interpretation, and presentations within the team

Qualifications:

  • B.S. candidate in Cell & Molecular Biology or related discipline
  • Basic knowledge of molecular biology, cell biology and biochemistry
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with aseptic cell culture of mammalian cells
  • Experience with basic molecular biology assays (Western blot, DNA extraction, PCR etc.)
  • Experience with flow cytometry
  • Familiarity with Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis
  • Independently motivated, detail-oriented, and excellent problem-solving abilities
