Position Overview:
Prime Medicine is seeking an Associate Director/Director, of Financial Planning & Analysis to serve as a critical partner in shaping the company's financial strategy and execution. Reporting to the Senior Director of FP&A and Investor Relations, this role will lead FP&A, overseeing detailed budgeting cycles, quarterly forecasts, and business development support through advanced financial modeling and due diligence. The Associate Director/Director will foster strong cross-functional partnerships across the organization, support strategic decision-making, and contribute to a culture of fiscal discipline and operational excellence. With deep experience in the biotech industry, the successful candidate will bring exceptional analytical acumen, communication skills, and business insight to the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Sr. Director of FP&A and Investor Relations, lead the FP&A function at Prime Medicine including:
- Lead and execute detailed budgeting process and quarterly reforecasts
- Create a collaborative partnership between Finance, functional and program teams to drive financial forecasting and management
- Work closely with various leadership levels to support strategic decision making
- Provide support for business development activities including financial modeling and due diligence.
- Serve as financial and strategic business partner to functional groups, understanding financial needs and providing support
- Ensure associated financial risks and opportunities, both near and longer-term are identified and reviewed periodically
- Partner with Accounting to assist with quarterly close processes and external audit requests
- Lead ad hoc business analysis and support ongoing management of key initiatives and investments
- Support a culture of fiscal discipline and operational excellence
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in economics/accounting/finance or similar
- 8+ years finance experience, with FP&A experience within a pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment
- Knowledge of accounting statements and financial reporting
- Excellent analytic skills; highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint with strong computer skills
- Ability to operate both strategically and tactically
- Excellent communication skills and ability to navigate in a matrixed environment
- Highly collaborative with strong influencing skills and track record of exceptional business partnership
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA strongly preferred
- Financial modeling and experience with valuation
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting
