We are seeking for an experienced Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to join Prismecs. As a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for commissioning and verifying mechanical systems in a data center, including HVAC, fire protection, water treatment, and mechanical auxiliaries. Covers planning, testing, performance verification, and final handover documentation. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Mechanical Commissioning Engineer, will contribute to the overall maintenance and operation of the data center.

Location: This job is located on-site at a customer location.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute commissioning test scripts and checklists for all mechanical equipment.
  • Perform independent verification during Pre-Commissioning, Functional Performance Testing, and Integrated System Testing phases.
  • Test fire suppression systems, water treatment plant, and fire pump stations for performance and compliance.
  • Conduct cooling redundancy and failover scenario validation, e.g. HVAC/CRAC/CRAH systems, including airflow performance, BMS integration, and duct leakage/air balancing.
  • Coordinate with SCADA/I&C teams to verify integration with alarms and emergency power-off for HVAC shutdown.
  • Perform loop checks, hydraulic testing, leak testing, alignment and motor no-load testing.
  • Review mechanical commissioning plans and suggest amendments.
  • Review FAT/SAT reports and validate vendor results.
  • Ensure proper documentation and input into COMPASS system.
  • Coordinate with vendors and site teams during Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
  • Adhere to and enforce HSE and LOTO procedures.
  • Conduct installation verification, support cause & effect validation, and assist in punch list closeout.

  • Familiarity with Compass and commissioning documentation tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of mechanical commissioning experience in data centers or critical facilities
  • Knowledge of testing, preservation, and commissioning practices for: Diesel generators (e.g., Cummins 3000kW, 1000kW), HVAC systems and ducting (e.g., SAIVER AHUs), Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment, Rotating equipment, Fire pumps and suppression systems and Sprinkler piping, vessels, mechanical seals, and valves.
  • Familiarity with standards including API, ASME, NBBI, ISO, BS, ANSI.
  • Proficiency in using special tools such as: Thermographic Camera, Endoscopes and Vibration Analyzer and Air Balancing Hood, Ultrasonic Leak Detector.
  • Experience working with Compass or similar commissioning management tools.
  • Preferred Certifications: 

    • NEBB or equivalent mechanical commissioning certification.
    • HVAC Testing and TAB Certification.
    • Fire Safety Commissioning Certification (NFPA Compliant).
