A Little About the Role
Reporting to the Manager of Customer Payment Operations, The Payment Enablement & Utilization Specialist is responsible for owning customer payment activation outcomes across a
portfolio of SMB customers. This role partners directly with customers to analyze current business operations, define payment adoption strategies, and drive measurable improvements in utilization and processing behavior.
While this role does not provide frontline payment support, it serves as a senior escalation point for complex payment-related issues and plays a key role in identifying underutilized or at-risk customers. The Specialist partners closely with Customer Success, Implementation, Support, and Product teams to ensure customers receive consistent training, guidance, and follow-through to optimize payment outcomes.
What you’ll do:
- Assess customer business operations, billing practices, and revenue workflows to develop tailored payment adoption strategies
- Own end-to-end activation outcomes, including adoption, utilization, and early-stage processing performance
- Advise customers on optimal payment configurations based on business model, parent engagement, and revenue goals
- Analyze utilization data to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities, and proactively intervene to improve outcomes
- Drive customer decision-making through consultative coaching and recommendations—not scripted training
- Partner cross-functionally to remove systemic barriers to activation and influence improvements to onboarding strategy
- Provide insights and recommendations to leadership based on customer trends and adoption data

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required
- 4+ years' of experience in customer enablement, training, customer success, implementation, or payments-related roles
- Experience in payment processing, fintech, or regulated environments strongly preferred
- Prior experience developing training materials or delivering structured enablement programs is a plus
- Working knowledge of payment processing concepts, including ACH, credit cards, payment workflows, and utilization drivers
Physical Requirements:
- This position works most of the time in a fixed office location and may involve sitting and/or standing for prolonged periods
- Frequently required to communicate verbally and in writing (mostly email) with customers, prospects, and other employees
- Use of computer, telephone, and other office equipment for the greater part of the workday
- Occasional travel may be required for this position

Salary
$75,000 - $87,200/year DOE
Location
This position can be based in our Denver, CO or Atlanta, GA offices. Procare operates in a hybrid working model based on business needs. Candidates must be willing and able to work in office a minimum of 3 days per week.
