Material Handler 1 Contractor (Part-Time)
Position Summary:
The Material Handler 1 is a key role responsible for the efficient management of materials and warehouse functions across multiple campuses. This position involves receiving packaged parcels, reconciling materials with purchase orders, and ensuring materials are stored, tracked, and distributed in compliance with GMP standards. The Material Handler will accurately record inventory transactions in the ERP system, manage the put-away process, and maintain an organized, clean warehouse environment. The role also includes operating warehouse material handling equipment, handling outbound shipments, and supporting waste disposal processes. Flexibility to work across campuses and a commitment to safety and quality standards are essential to success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Execute material receiving functions, including the receipt of packaged parcels and reconciliation with purchase orders.
- Perform GMP-compliant receiving, visual inspection, labeling, and recording of inventory transactions in the ERP system.
- Ensure proper stock put-away in compliance with SOPs and Material Delivery Specifications (MDS).
- Maintain accurate inventory balances in the ERP system through proper inventory transactions.
- Communicate with Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Quality teams regarding expiry or low inventory levels.
- Ensure materials are issued according to the First-Expired, First-Out (FEFO) methodology.
- Properly label and identify materials with lot numbers, expiration dates, serial numbers, and part numbers.
- Safely and efficiently operate warehouse equipment.
- Execute outbound shipments and manage returns through FedEx, UPS, or other logistics providers.
- General warehouse duties as assigned, including maintaining a clean and organized work area in a state of perpetual audit readiness.
- Flexibility to assist with warehouse functions across different campuses as needed.
- Comply with company SOPs, policies, and safety standards.
- Handle the disposal of receiving and shipping-related waste in accordance with company guidelines.
- Attend departmental meetings and complete all necessary training requirements.
- Perform other tactical and operational duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of practical warehouse experience, preferably in a GMP and or Pharm/Biotech environment.
- Handling of Biohazard materials and Chemicals.
- 1 year of experience preferred operating a pallet jack.
- Ability to lift and move material containers weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management processes and the ERP system with operation of Scanners or tablets for transactions.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient understanding in basic computer functions, that includes writing emails and data entry in a Microsoft environment.
- Requirement of usage proper warehouse attire and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
