What Will You Do?
The Overview
The Business Development Manager will play a key role in developing and executing our business strategy, expanding our growth through including alliances, partnerships, and collaborations and playing a key role in contributing to product/solution strategies and building industry relationships. This position will be responsible for partnering primarily with our clinical care business (hospital and provider partners) but will also support biopharma clinical research partners. The role will also work with the leadership team to build our business development infrastructure, support the definition of our business development strategy, and in identifying and negotiating a number of strategic partnerships to support the advancement of Prolaio’s strategy. This role will report directly to the Chief Privacy Officer/Vice President, Operations. This will be a hybrid role based in the Chicagoland area.
The Specifics
- Build Framework: Work with the team to build the business development function with hands-on work in tooling, processes, and roles.
- Establish Goals: Work closely with the Leadership Team to establish key strategic development goals and associated business development strategies and plans.
- Establish Relationships: Establish collaborative relationships and maintain close communication with the key internal stakeholders including data science, regulatory, and finance to identify potential opportunities and ensure alignment on current projects and key business drivers.
- Negotiation and Close: Support the negotiation and close of significant and complex buy side and sell side deals that diversify the company’s business and drive growth consistent with overall business strategy including partnerships with patient organizations, genetic testing companies, and digital health groups. Assures appropriate deal structure, terms, financial models and value creation within the framework of applicable strategies and objectives.
- Research and Network: Leverage network to develop market intelligence that is critical for pricing, competitive positioning, and shaping industry/client partnerships.

Who You Are
Experience and Education
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from a four year accredited university or college
- Experience: Requisite experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry with at least 5+ years of progressive Business Development experience.
Qualifications, Skills, and Practice
- Sales Experience: Demonstrated track record of success in business development and the business and financial acumen necessary to be successful with the ability to evaluate deal alternatives
- Relationship Building: Experience working with cross-functional teams to build strong relationships with colleagues and to ensure efficient and effective achievement of key deliverables.
- Strong Communicator: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively convey key recommendations to the Leadership Team and ensure messaging clarity during internal and external discussions.
- Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of the healthcare market and competitive environment including deal activity and potential opportunities.
- Tools: Can effectively manage business processes and opportunity evaluation and is familiar with contemporary CRM tooling with the ability to implement and advance such tooling.

- Paid Time Off: Prolaio time off policy is based on length of service. As a new employee you will be eligible for 15 days of PTO which you will start to accrue immediately. We also offer a minimum of 5 sick days (adjusted based on location) and 13 paid company holidays each year (10 scheduled and 3 floating).
