Head of Marketing - Mining

San Francisco, CA

Who we are

Pronto AI is a global leader in commercializing autonomous vehicle (AV) technology, deploying Autonomous Haulage Systems (AHS) that automate operations in mines, quarries, and construction sites worldwide. While much of the industry remains in R&D, we deliver real, production-ready autonomy that is already operating in the field.

We are on a mission to make mining operations safer, smarter, and more efficient through cutting-edge technology, and we are building toward becoming the world’s first profitable AV technology company.

About the role

Own Pronto's mining go-to-market voice end to end: positioning, brand, website, events, collateral, content, social and press. Turn real deployments into the most credible autonomy story in mining, feed BD with the assets they need, and build the function from scratch. Hands-on operator first; player-coach as the team forms.

What you’ll do

  • Positioning and messaging: one narrative for the two buyers (corporate decision makers and site operators) built on cost per ton-km, utilization, speed of deployment, safety, and OEM independence.
  • Brand and website: land the in-flight refresh with Atoms design and outside agencies, then own it: site content, case studies, vehicle/product pages, video library, sales deck and template system.
  • Events: annual calendar and budget for the mining show circuit (LatAm, NA, MEA, Europe); booth design, demo content, pre-show pipeline, post-show follow-up. Replace the current fire drills with a repeatable playbook.
  • Collateral and demo content: brochures, one-pagers, site videos, customer references; coordinate shoots at live sites with customer permission.
  • Channels: run Pronto LinkedIn and other social, blog, press and industry-media relationships, trade-press interviews, thought leadership for the leadership team.
  • Build the function: budget, agency/vendor bench, working rhythm with design and BD, then first hires.

Competencies

  • Industrial storytelling: ability to make a technical, safety-critical product credible to mine operators.
  • Brand and creative direction: ability to set a visual and verbal system, direct designers and agencies, and ship polished assets fast.
  • Event and program execution: ability to run a multi-country show calendar on budget with measurable pipeline output.
  • Content and channel operations: ability to keep a steady drumbeat across web, social, press and video with minimal headcount.
  • Cross-functional pull: ability to extract stories and proof from engineering, ops and customers, and hold BD/leadership to a message.
  • Atoms values (Truth, Passion, Trust) and Atoms management competencies once managing.

What we’re looking for

  • 10–15+ yrs B2B marketing, at least part ideally in heavy equipment, mining, industrial tech or autonomy
  • Has built a marketing function (or been the first marketer) at a growth-stage industrial company; comfortable doing the work before delegating.
  • Track record across brand, events and content; strong writer; fluent with agencies and in-house design.
  • Comfortable with the industry's trade-show circuit and trade press.
  • Target companies: Caterpillar/Komatsu autonomy and MineStar/FrontRunner marketing, Epiroc, Sandvik, Hexagon Mining, Wenco, Modular Mining, ASI, Bluelight; growth-stage industrial tech (Boston Dynamics, Built Robotics, Dusty, Skydio); mining-focused agencies or trade media.
  • Pedigree: early marketing hire at a hardware/autonomy scale-up; mining OEM or major (Rio Tinto, Freeport, BHP) comms/marketing.
