Your Impact
As VP, Business Development, you will be responsible for leading the development and execution of RFP responses that align with our business goals and growth strategy. You will guide cross-functional teams through the entire RFP process, ensuring timely, compelling, and customized proposals. This position requires someone who combines strategic vision with a hands-on, results-oriented approach, with a particular focus on crafting winning proposals that drive business outcomes.
What You’ll Do
- Captain the RFP Response Process: Oversee the end-to-end RFP response process, from identifying creative proposal approaches to final submission, ensuring all outputs are compelling, high-quality and clearly exemplify Propeller’s value proposition
- Proposal Strategy: Partner with CEO to develop winning strategies for each RFP, ensuring proposals are not only responsive to client requirements but also position Propeller as a preferred partner for that specific need
- Strategic Proposal Development: Work closely with internal stakeholders (Agency Leadership, Account, Strategy, Operations, Creative) to craft tailored, customer-centric proposals that align with client needs and showcase the company's value proposition
- Team Leadership: Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring that all contributors meet deadlines and provide the necessary expertise to create impactful proposals
- Market Insight: Stay ahead of industry trends and client expectations to craft proposals that reflect the latest innovations and differentiators in the market
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the RFP process and propose solutions to mitigate them
- Post-Submission Follow-up: Lead the follow-up process after submission to ensure that any clarifications or additional information is provided in a timely and professional manner
- Continuous Improvement: Analyze feedback from clients, review proposal outcomes, and implement continuous improvements to the RFP response process to increase success rates
- Reporting and Analytics: Track and report on RFP outcomes, win/loss analysis, and process effectiveness to senior leadership, making data-driven recommendations for improvement
What You Bring
- Proven experience (10+ years) of relevant experience, with a significant focus on leading and managing RFP responses and proposal submissions. Healthcare experience a plus
- Deep understanding of RFP processes, including how to structure and position proposals for success
- Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to develop tailored, value-driven proposals that align with client needs and company objectives
- Excellent leadership and project management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality proposals under tight deadlines
- Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively
- Demonstrated ability to drive business outcomes through effective RFP responses that lead to new client acquisitions and partnerships
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple RFPs and competing priorities simultaneously
- Experience working closely with senior executives to develop strategies and proposals for large, complex opportunities
The range below represents the low and high end of the base salary someone in this role may earn as an employee of an Omnicom Health Group company in the United States. Salaries will vary based on various factors including but not limited to professional and academic experience, training, associated responsibilities, and other business and organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees. Salary decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each hire.
