LRN Office Hours

Regions

ProPublica's Local Reporting Network was launched in 2018 to support local and regional newsrooms working on important investigative projects affecting their communities. To help, we are hosting Office Hours – an opportunity to discuss your accountability story ideas with a ProPublica editor. We particularly encourage people of color, LGBTQ people and those in other traditionally underrepresented communities to sign up.

How does this work?

Sign up through this form and answer a few questions about the project you have in mind. We’ll pair you with a ProPublica editor who will meet with you for 30 minutes to discuss it. This opportunity is open to professional journalists only at this time.

What kinds of things can we talk about?

You can get advice on how to conceive of an investigative idea, think through best approaches to reporting or brainstorm about roadblocks.

What's expected of me?

Half an hour goes by quickly. We ask you to have an idea to share in advance, so you and our staff can spend that time productively discussing it.

There are some questions we find helpful before talking. These are not required, but please feel free to answer as many as you are able.
