IT Director: Product Development & Management - Healthcare

US - Remote

The IT Director, Development provides strategic and operational leadership for PRO-spectus’s development function, overseeing the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of technology solutions that support client, provider, and patient-facing experiences. This role leads a small, high-impact team responsible for Salesforce Health Cloud and related digital tools and portals, ensuring solutions are reliable, scalable, intuitive, and aligned with business priorities.

Reporting to the Chief Digital Transformation & Technology Officer, the IT Director, Development partners closely with Data, IT Operations, and business stakeholders to translate organizational priorities into a clear and sustainable development roadmap. This leader brings structure, accountability, and people leadership to the team while maintaining a thoughtful balance between user experience, platform stability, delivery discipline, and long-term technical health.

 

Core Duties/Responsibilities:  

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and long-term direction for the development team, fostering clarity, accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a cross-functional team.
  • Own the roadmap and ongoing optimization of the Salesforce Health Cloud platform and related digital solutions.
  • Oversee the development, enhancement, and support of client-facing, provider-facing, and patient-facing portals and interactive tools.
  • Translate business priorities into actionable development plans, timelines, and resource needs in partnership with IT leadership.
  • Partner with Directors of Data and IT Operations to ensure technology solutions are integrated effectively across the broader technology environment.
  • Establish and maintain development standards, governance practices, documentation, and delivery processes that improve consistency, quality, and scalability.
  • Drive efficient execution while minimizing technical debt and supporting sustainable platform architecture.
  • Serve as an escalation point for technical, operational, and cross-functional issues requiring leadership support or decision-making.
  • Manage external vendors, consultants, and platform resources to ensure cost-effective and purposeful use of technology investments.
  • Monitor team performance, delivery health, and platform reliability, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement focused on operational excellence, user experience, and measurable business outcomes.

 

Skills / Requirements:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead a lean, high-performing technical team in a remote environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to create structure, prioritize effectively, and execute against multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce platform capabilities; Salesforce Health Cloud experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience leading or managing digital products, portals, or technology solutions serving multiple end-user groups.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational oversight.
  • Strong project and delivery management capabilities with a disciplined, transparent approach to timelines and stakeholder communication.
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to build trusted partnerships across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to remain calm and effective in complex environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort communicating with executive leadership and technical team members alike.
  • Experience working in regulated, healthcare, or mission-driven environments preferred.
  • Comfort operating in an outcomes-focused, efficiency-minded business environment.
  • Strong experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and building high-functioning product/engineering delivery cadences.
  • Experience implementing backlog management, sprint planning, and iterative delivery in cross-functional teams.
  • Experience leading product strategy, roadmaps, and measurable outcomes aligned to business objectives.

 

Education, Certifications and Experience: 

  • Experience building, managing, or supporting patient-facing, provider-facing, member-facing, or client-facing digital platforms preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare, life sciences, patient services, or another regulated industry preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive IT and/or Product Management experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience leading technical teams required.
  • Experience with Salesforce required; Salesforce Health Cloud strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Physical Requirements

  • As a remote-forward organization, this position operates in a professional virtual office environment and teleworking from the employee’s home address listed in their employment file.
