Technical Product Owner – Salesforce Health Cloud & AI-Enabled Agile Delivery
We are looking for a Product Owner who wants to shape a product, not administer a backlog. In this role you will own what our development team builds and why, for the Salesforce Health Cloud solutions that power a fast-growing patient services business. You will help shape the roadmap alongside our Innovation and Implementation leaders, then carry it all the way through to working software that clients and patient-facing teams actually use.
This is a decision-making seat on a small, fast-moving team. There is no room for ambiguity: you set priority, you resolve the open questions blocking a build, and you say no when something does not fit. You will also work as part of a broader technology organization, partnering with our AI Lead, data team, and IT operations group to make sure solutions fit the platform rather than bolt onto it.
We expect you to work with AI, not around it. The team runs on Jira, Confluence, and Rovo and uses Claude, Claude Code, and Agentforce Vibes in its daily practice. Used well, these tools take the drafting burden out of stories, specifications, and test scenarios so your time goes where it matters most: discovery with the business, hard prioritization calls, and validating that what we built solves the actual problem.
Success in this role is shared. You will own product outcomes - what shipped and whether it works - and share accountability with the Innovation and Impact team for what happens after go-live: adoption, efficiency gains, and measurable return. The Delivery Manager owns delivery flow and predictability. All of it in service of our mission to remove barriers between patients and the care they need.
Core Duties/Responsibilities:
- Roadmap Partnership: Contribute to the product roadmap with the Executive Director of IT Development, Innovation and Impact, and Implementation leaders - bringing the platform view, feasibility, and sequencing realities into strategy conversations before commitments are made.
- Value-Driven Prioritization: Own a single prioritized backlog spanning client launches, enhancements, defects, and platform work. Make the trade-offs explicit, publish the rationale, and keep the backlog an honest reflection of what the team will actually do.
- Specification & Story Decomposition: Translate complex business needs into build-ready, incrementally deliverable work for Salesforce Health Cloud. Decompose capabilities and workflows into epics, features/user stories, and acceptance criteria at the right level for engineering execution. Define the required data model, business and validation rules, automations, role-based access, integrations, notifications, dependencies, and exception scenarios. Identify gaps and decisions before development begins and confirm the resulting solution against what the business meant, not only what was initially asked for.
- Backlog Readiness: Own the readiness of work before sprint commitment. Ensure stories have sufficient requirements, acceptance criteria, dependencies, design decisions, data and access needs, and test scenarios for engineering to begin without avoidable discovery or requirements churn during the sprint. Ensure decisions and requirement changes are reflected in the backlog as the source of truth.
- AI-Enhanced Workflows: Use Claude, Claude Code, Agentforce Vibes, and Rovo to accelerate research, story writing, documentation, and test scenario generation - with the review discipline and data handling standards a regulated environment requires.
- Stakeholder Synthesis: Act as the primary point of contact for Market Access, Clinical Adherence, Pharmacy, Revenue Cycle Management, Implementation, and Compliance stakeholders. Negotiate competing priorities and manage expectations without relying on positional authority.
- Outcomes Over Output: Define the success measures for what you ship, then go look. Track adoption, error and rework rates, cycle time, and operational impact after release, and use what you learn to reshape the backlog.
- Delivery Accountability: Partner daily with the Delivery Manager, who owns the delivery flow, sprint capacity, sequencing, and delivery predictability. The Product Owner owns priority, scope, requirements, and product decisions during the sprint. Define acceptance criteria, accept completed work, and make timely scope and priority decisions when tradeoffs are required.
- Quality, Release & Business Readiness: Define how each requirement gets tested, lead user acceptance testing with the business, and triage defects through resolution. Demonstrate completed functionality to stakeholders, coordinate and deliver operational training, and confirm the business is prepared to adopt the change before go-live. Ensure documentation, training materials, communications, and post-deployment verification are complete before release.
- Platform Stewardship: Work with the Salesforce architect on configuration-first, reusable solutions that limit technical debt; with the AI Lead on where automation and AI belong in patient services workflows, including the guardrails; and with the data team on reporting, analytics, and integration requirements.
- Compliance by Design: Build HIPAA obligations, security policy, and minimum-necessary access into requirements from the start, given the patient, provider, and payer data our programs touch.
Skills & Requirements:
- 3+ years as a Product Owner in an agile environment, with direct ownership of a backlog and the priority calls that come with it.
- A track record of taking digital products from concept to launch and being able to say what changed as a result.
- Working knowledge of the Salesforce platform and its configuration model - objects, fields, record types, permission sets, flows, and reporting. Health Cloud experience is a strong advantage.
- The ability to write requirements a developer can build from and a tester can verify against independently.
- Data literacy: comfort defining metrics, working with reports and dashboards, and using evidence rather than volume of requests to drive decisions.
- Practical experience with generative AI tools for documentation, analysis, and agile workflows.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence without authority and to hold a position under pressure.
- Comfort operating at pace with incomplete information, in a fully remote environment where accountability is self-driven.
Education, Certifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in patient services, patient access, hub services, specialty pharmacy, market access, or revenue cycle management a strong advantage.
- Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence preferred; familiarity with Atlassian Rovo, Claude, or comparable AI assistants preferred.
- Familiarity with HIPAA and regulated healthcare environments preferred.
- Relevant certifications preferred, including: Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO), PMI-PBA, Salesforce Certified Administrator, Salesforce Certified Business Analyst, or Salesforce Health Cloud Accredited Professional.
Physical Requirements:
- As a remote-forward organization, this position operates in a virtual professional office environment and teleworking from the employee’s home address listed in their employment file.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Keyboarding
- Speaking
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- Flexibility of working hours to support activities across EST to PST zones
- Minimal travel possible
