Strategy & Operations Lead, RCM

New York, New York, United States

Prosper Health is on a mission to make life happier and healthier for autistic and neurodivergent adults.

Autistic adults have been systematically overlooked by the healthcare system—despite autism diagnoses increasing more than 5x in the past 25 years. This has led to extremely poor outcomes: autistic adults are 11x more likely than the average person to experience suicidal ideation and face a life expectancy 30 years shorter than average.

Prosper offers virtual mental health services—covered by insurance and built specifically for autistic adults. We help thousands of people get diagnosed for the first time in their lives, pair them with neurodivergent-affirming therapists, and foster belonging through community. In just 2 years, we have grown to double digit millions of run-rate revenue, thousands of active clients, and 200+ clinicians. We have a lean, ambitious team, and recently raised a Series A to help us transform mental health for autistic and neurodivergent adults.

About the Role

As the Strategy & Operations Lead for RCM, you will be the driver behind all strategy and analytics related to revenue cycle management - helping us collect our revenue while ensuring clients can seamlessly access our services.

You’ll be responsible for optimizing all aspects of the revenue cycle, including daily operations (e.g., insurance eligibility, claim submission, and post-claim adjudication flows), revenue collection, patient billing support, and data analysis.

The role is cross functional, collaborating closely across engineering, marketing, client experience, and more. As one of our first 25 team members, this is a unique opportunity to get significant ownership of a critical function at an early-stage, high-growth startup. This role is NYC-based (3-5 days / week in our Flatiron office).

Key Responsibilities

  • Maximize revenue capture: Dig into data on denials, underpayments, and billing issues to find where money is slipping through the cracks, then implement targeted solutions
  • Drive top-line revenue growth: Lead high-impact projects in payer network strategy and billing strategy that measurably improve top-line revenue
  • Build analytics that matter: Design reporting that translate complex revenue cycle data into clear insights that drive decisions
  • Streamline operational workflows: Find friction points in eligibility, collections, and billing, then design solutions that cut manual work of support team and accelerate turnaround times
  • Own high-impact special projects: Lead initiatives that move the needle on company growth—like redesigning our state expansion playbook or building from scratch a late cancellation policy. You'll coordinate across engineering, operations, clinical, and client experience teams to launch solutions that actually work.

About You

  • 4-6 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, or strategy & operations at a high-growth startup. No healthcare or RCM background required—we value first principles thinking and fast learning over domain experience.
  • You’re driven by data. You break down complex problems into simple, actionable insights. You get excited by building analyses and models from the ground up. You understand data in the broader context and can translate data into business action.
  • You’re action-oriented. You take the 80/20 approach and don’t get stuck in analysis. You bias toward action and impact, finding scrappy solutions and learning fast through iteration.
  • You thrive in the early-stage chaos. Ambiguity energizes you. You take ownership without being asked, move fast without much direction, and figure things out as you go.

Our culture:

  • Clients first - decisions start by asking what is best for our clients; we stay extremely close to our community and self-advocates so we know how to best support autistic adults
  • Honesty and transparency - startups fail when they lose touch with reality. We speak the truth—to ourselves and each other—because the mission depends on it.
  • Play to win - the problems we’re solving are hard. We’re here for the challenge—and we want teammates who are hungry to win.
  • Growth mindset - we won’t get everything right the first time. We learn fast, iterate, seek feedback, and keep getting better.
  • Bias for action - velocity matters. We move quickly, make decisions, and focus on what drives impact.
  • Enjoy the journey - we’re building something meaningful, but we’re here to enjoy ourselves while doing it. We laugh, support each other, and make the day-to-day fun.
