Content & Events Marketing Manager

About us:

The wholesale distribution industry is ready for a revolution, and Proton is leading the charge. The world relies on distributors to sell nearly every physical product, but despite its massive contribution to the global economy, this industry has been left behind in terms of technology. Proton is changing that with AI-powered CRM software. Distributors using Proton see 10x ROI, faster new hire ramp-up, and happier sales teams.

In 2021, we raised a $20M Series A backed by Felicis Ventures (investors in Twitch, Shopify, Opendoor, and many others) and Battery Ventures. This year, we’re laser-focused on driving customer growth.

We’re looking for a Content & Events Marketing Manager to drive our content strategy and event coordination, focusing on building our pipeline and positioning Proton as the market-leading CRM solution in distribution.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing and working closely with the marketing and sales teams, you’ll lead the development and execution of a comprehensive content strategy, plan and coordinate our presence at trade shows and conferences to generate high-quality leads.

Marketing is a team sport at Proton.ai—you’ll be a key member of the team and will be driven by its greater success. You’ll contribute to this success by taking full ownership of our thought leadership and event strategies.

It’s important that you have a bias for action, are highly organized, have a keen attention to detail, are deeply curious, and enjoy a lot of collaboration. In other words, you thrive in an action-oriented and results-driven environment.

We are looking to hire someone in the greater Boston area who is open to a hybrid schedule – 3 days in the office/week. This role will require occasional travel to visit customers and prospects in the field, and to attend trade shows and events. One of our core values is being "Customer first," and one of the ways we live this value is by getting close to the customer in the real world, visiting in person and connecting face to face at events.

The target salary range for this role is $100,000- $130,000 base salary. Final offers will be based on your skills and previous experience.

What you'll do:

Content strategy and creation:

  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive content strategy that aligns with Proton.ai’s marketing goals and objectives.
  • Partner with the CX team to produce compelling customer success stories that highlight the value of Proton.ai’s solutions.
  • Craft and publish thought leadership articles positioning Proton.ai as the market-leading CRM in distribution, and our CEO, Benj, as a thought leader in the industry.
  • Collaborate with our content agency to produce high-quality thought leadership content for the Proton blog and third-party publications, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with our brand voice.
  • Create actionable, tactical, and data-filled eBooks targeted at Directors and C-Suite executives to generate high-quality leads.
  • Develop and manage nurture email campaigns to engage and convert leads who interact with our content.
  • Work directly with the CEO to create compelling thought leadership presentations for various events and speaking engagements.
  • Ensure our brand voice is consistently represented on LinkedIn by repurposing and posting content, increasing engagement, and growing our following.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of content, using data to inform future strategies and improve results.

Event strategy:

  • Plan and coordinate Proton.ai’s presence at trade shows, ensuring seamless organization and execution. Oversee all logistics related to trade shows, including selecting events, coordinating attendee schedules, and managing pre- and post-event engagement strategies.
  • Engage target prospects before and after events to maximize ROI.
  • Occasionally, organize and manage satellite events, such as intimate dinners and smaller gatherings, to enhance engagement and build deeper connections with key stakeholders.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of events, using data to inform future strategies and improve results.
  • Proactively reach out to organizations in the distribution industry to recommend Proton’s CEO, Benj, as a speaker and/or panelist, securing thought leadership opportunities at industry events.
  • Represent the company at industry events and customer meetings as needed.

You'll be a great fit for this role if:

  • Deeply curious and able to quickly learn and understand the distribution industry and our ideal customers. You care to know the “why” behind things and the business you’re in.
  • An owner of your results. You have a history of working hard to get things done. You love owning projects end-to-end and proactively finding ways to make things better.
  • A strong writer who can produce high-quality thought leadership content and customer success stories.
  • Someone with strong project management skills to handle the coordination of 20+ trade shows per year.
  • Flexible and capable of managing both content creation and event coordination.

Benefits:

  • Competitive Salaries + Company Stock Options - we want to pay you well (and equitably!) and make you feel like an owner.
  • Unlimited PTO + 10 Company Paid Holidays - we even have tools implemented to detect burnout to make sure folks recharge regularly.
  • 401k with Employer Contribution (US only, for now!) - we know work isn’t forever, so we contribute up to 3% of your salary to help you prepare whether you directly contribute or not.
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance - we cover one medical plan 100% in the USA and cover 50% for dependents on all our medical plan options.
  • 12 Weeks Fully Paid Parental Leave - that goes for primary and secondary caregivers; even if you’re adopting or fostering!
  • Annual Company Paid off-sites - time for us to be together, brainstorm, and make magic happen

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
