Senior Commissions Analyst
Location: Remote
About the Role
Prove is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Commissions Analyst to join our team. This is a pivotal role that sits at the intersection of Sales, Finance, and Operations. Our commission structure is complex and tailored to our consumption-based business model. As we do not have an automated commissions system, this role requires a hands-on, "roll up your sleeves" approach to managing the entire end-to-end commissions process manually.
The ideal candidate is a master of spreadsheets, a meticulous problem-solver, and an exceptional communicator who is comfortable serving as the primary point of contact for our sales team and leadership regarding all compensation inquiries. If you thrive on complexity, enjoy building processes from the ground up, and are looking for a high-impact role, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
What You'll Do
- Administer and Calculate Commissions: Manage the end-to-end monthly and quarterly commission calculation process for the entire sales organization using complex models in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert: Act as the first point of contact for sellers and sales leaders, addressing inquiries, providing clarity on commission statements, and resolving discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner closely with Finance and Accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely commission payments, provide necessary data for financial accruals, and maintain data integrity between systems.
- Analyze and Troubleshoot: Perform detailed analysis of sales performance and commission data to identify trends, investigate variances, and resolve complex compensation issues.
- Process Improvement: Maintain and improve existing commission calculation spreadsheets and processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
- Reporting: Prepare and distribute commission statements and reports to the sales team and leadership, providing clear and concise summaries of performance and earnings.
- Maintain Documentation: Ensure that all commission plans, policies, and processes are clearly documented and accessible.
What You'll Bring
Required:
- 3-6 years of direct experience in a sales commissions, sales compensation, or financial analyst role with a focus on variable compensation.
- Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets is a must. You should be comfortable with complex formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/INDEX MATCH, and managing large datasets on a daily basis.
- Proven ability to work with and troubleshoot complex, multi-layered commission plans.
- Highly analytical mindset with exceptional problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Outstanding organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to partner effectively with sales professionals and leadership.
- Willingness and ability to travel to our New York office on a quarterly basis.
Preferred:
- Experience working in a high-growth SaaS or technology company with a consumption-based revenue model.
- Direct experience managing commissions in a non-automated, spreadsheet-driven environment.
The anticipated salary range for this role is $105,000- $120,000 plus company bonus. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, geo-location and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
