This is a remote role.  We would prefer that the successful candidate located in the Seattle area within the PST/MST time zones.

The Digital Innovation Group (DIG) at Providence is a small but mighty product development and incubation team.  We build next-gen tools that give patients convenient and easy access to health care anywhere, anytime.

DIG is both a healthcare startup and a technology/product incubator. Our team gathers market data on effective solutions in the health care space and then builds out a product line with the latest and greatest technology. When market maturity hits, DIG enables the product to spin out as its own company. It is a unique mix of venture capitalists, digital strategists, marketing acumen, product development and engineering all in one group nestled inside one of the largest health systems. We set the pace for other health care organizations around the country on how to conceive, engineer and launch effective health care solutions.

Job Summary:
 
Are you an experienced Data Scientist who wants to lead a new analytics program focused on helping patients effectively navigate their care through a seamless digital experience? 
 
As a Data Science Manager, you will lead a team of data scientists in helping the Digital Innovation Group understand the patient’s digital journey and how our products are impacting their health outcomes and the performance of our healthcare system.  
We need a talented data science leader to apply rigorous hypothesis testing, statistical modeling, machine learning, predictive analytics and working with LLMs to inform the acquisition, personalization and retention strategies for our products. Your team will be responsible for building churn, retention and LTV models for our Providence App as well as developing the next best action recommendation model personalizing content by patient cohorts. Your team’s work will contribute directly to the success of growing, maintaining and improving health outcomes of our patients utilizing digital products developed by DIG. 
You will be expected to work with analytics and product leaders to understand their top priorities to set the strategic direction of your data science projects. You will be a player/coach on the team, helping define the team’s roadmap, ways of working (process management) and provide technical guidance and oversight.  
The Data Science Manager will play a critical role in leading the data driven approach to incubation and commercialization of our product portfolio helping Providence innovate in healthcare technology affecting millions of patients' health outcomes.  
 
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics Or equivalent educ/experience
  • 6 years of experience in data analysis, advanced statistical analysis, predictive analytics, with hands on experience in data mining, machine learning and predictive modeling. 
  • 4 years Leadership experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics Or equivalent educ/experience
  • Coursework/Training Data science or project management     
  • 1 year Experience in the Healthcare field.
  • 1 year Experience in project management.
  • Certifications in data science, project management or related fields (e.g., Certified Analytics Professional (CAP), Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), or specific vendor certifications like Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate.)
