Job Title:  Manager, Technology – Platform Solution(GIS)

Location – Hyderabad (Hybrid)

 

Summary

The Manager, Technology – Platform Solution (GIS) is responsible for owning the architecture, scalability, and evolution of the enterprise GIS platform while ensuring strong operational reliability.

This role combines platform leadership with solution architecture, driving end-to-end design of GIS-enabled solutions across enterprise systems such as CRM, ERP, Field Operations, and Data Platforms. The individual will define platform strategy, design integration patterns, and ensure the GIS ecosystem supports business growth, field efficiency, and data-driven decision-making.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Own the end-to-end architecture and lifecycle of the ESRI ArcGIS platform (ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, Portal, Server, ArcGIS Pro, Field Apps).
  • Define and drive platform architecture standards, including scalability, availability, security, and performance.
  • Act as a Solution Architect for GIS-driven initiatives, designing solutions across systems such as Salesforce, ERP, VRP engines, Data Lakes, and APIs.
  • Design and implement event-driven and API-based integration architectures (Kafka, middleware, ESRI GeoEvent, REST services).
  • Translate business requirements into scalable GIS solutions and technical blueprints.
  • Lead platform modernization initiatives, including cloud migration (Azure), automation, and microservices enablement.
  • Ensure platform reliability and operational excellence, including SLAs, monitoring, observability, and incident management.
  • Drive data architecture and governance for spatial data, including schema design, versioning, and data quality frameworks.
  • Oversee GIS integrations and data flows across enterprise systems ensuring real-time and batch processing capabilities.
  • Enable field teams through optimized mobile workflows, routing solutions, and spatial analytics.
  • Govern release management, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment strategies for GIS components.
  • Ensure SOX-compliant controls, including change management, access governance, and audit readiness.
  • Build and maintain architecture documentation, solution designs, and platform runbooks.
  • Define and execute the GIS platform roadmap aligned with enterprise strategy.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Leads GIS administrators, Principal Engineers, and Developer; responsible for staffing, coaching, performance management, and expertise development.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in GIS, Geomatics, Geography, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 8–12 years of GIS experience with 3–5 years in platform operations or leadership roles.

Language Skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills.Deep expertise in ESRI ArcGIS ecosystem, including ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, Field Maps, Survey123, Experience Builder, geodatabases, SDE, versioning, and GIS integrations.

Reasoning Ability

Strong analytical and spatial reasoning skills.

Computer Skills

Proficient in ESRI tools, scripting (Python/ArcPy), Azure, APIs, and database platforms.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

ESRI technical certifications preferred.

Other Skills/Abilities and Qualifications

-Strong GIS troubleshooting, field workflow support, and integration expertise.

-Experience in telecom, utilities, or field services GIS operations preferred.
