Objective

The Sales Consultant has primary oversight to identify, develop, build and grow productive relationships with Pharma, Biotech and Med Device clients in addition to developing and executing on personal sales plans. 

Once in contact with clients, the Sales Consultant needs to communicate Instar key differentiating features, uncover and identify client business objectives, clearly communicate these in terms of Instar research study types and subsequently help manage client expectations during the research.

What you will do

Reporting to and mentored by Instar’s President and/or Vice President, and working with a team of research professionals, the mandate is to take a leadership role in:

  • Leading the creation of compelling proposals and presentations for nominated accounts in terms of business development to ensure that new business opportunities are created and profitable working relationships are established. Business development through direct sales to a diversified client base with the expectation of tracking annual sales of US$2 million to pharmaceutical clients based in the US 
  • Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with major clients and other industry stakeholders, to exchange information and views and to ensure that the core offering meets the needs of its clients.  Propose and agree changes with the Group President
  • Continuously scanning the market environment to detect signals that represent potential business opportunities. Manage account assignments to maximise revenue potential. 
  • Consulting on client business issues and translating these into market research opportunities. 
  • Implementing Instar sales and marketing strategies through various communication channels, with an emphasis on direct selling, supported by email, print, web-based, and other supportive measures currently in place or under development
  • Adhering to all pricing, packaging and product positioning guidelines set forth in the commercial policy and approved by the Domain CEO
  • Having a full understanding of Instar capabilities in order to represent or recommend them to clients in order to meet client informational needs
  • Ensuring that research projects designed and implemented for our clients meet their desired business objectives
  • Mentoring and supporting the research staff, when appropriate

Who you are

  • Demonstrated experience in a Primary Market Research organization with at least 2+ years in a business development role 
  • Solid track record of new account development and sales volume generation
  • Ability to work independently, as well as contribute to the team when required
  • A solid understanding of pharmaceutical market research is essential (both quantitative and qualitative techniques)
  • Ability to generate sales leads and deliver winning bids
  • Proven ability to develop strong, lasting relationships with pharmaceutical clients
  • Having the ability to understand client needs and adapt them to the Instar product offering
  • Ability to contribute to the development of the Instar marketing strategy
  • Excellent written and spoken English is required; 
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel;
  • Ability to clearly communicate ideas (both written & verbally) 
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to successfully manage varying workloads/schedules
