Objective

The Lead App Support Engineer will play a pivotal role in deploying and supporting key applications, overseeing their health to ensure peak performance. This role also involves establishing best practices, standards, and procedures for the team to enhance application reliability and consistency.

 

What you will do 

  • Collaborate with Product Owners to define and improve monitoring requirements for the product.
  • Serve as Incident Manager, facilitating communication during high-visibility incidents.
  • Perform code reviews for standards, quality assurance, and security audits.
  • Continuously improve technology skills through self-learning.
  • Take ownership, responsibility, and pride in the work delivered, maintaining strong communication.
  • Consult and contribute expertise to other development teams as needed.
  • Develop and automate monitoring systems, productivity tools, and cloud infrastructure, focusing on stability and AWS optimization.
  • Adopt AI tools to enhance productivity, monitoring quality, and system performance.
  • Provide technical estimates and analyze dependencies in collaboration with Project Managers.
  • Produce architectural recommendations based on product requirements.
  • Act as Tier2 escalation for troubleshooting and maintain operational documentation for Tier1 support.
  • Collaborate with Dev, Ops, and Security teams on DevSecOps and cloud initiatives.
  • Ensure site reliability through effective monitoring, alert responses, and system optimization.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and best practices in incident response and cloud solution improvements.

 

Who you are

  • At least 5 years of experience in web development, deployment, and support.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud technologies and DevOps practices.
  • Proven expertise in implementing and maintaining applications on AWS.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as New Relic (preferred), Datadog, Grafana, or Splunk.
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot complex enterprise systems across multiple components and teams, including both in-house and third-party solutions.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, React.js, or Node.js is required. Experience with PHP (Symfony) and serverless technologies is a plus.
  • Familiarity with database technologies, including strong SQL language skills.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure and meet deadlines/SLA requirements, with a focus on time to resolution and quality execution.
  • Experience using configuration management and integration tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborative team player with a willingness to share knowledge and information with peers.

  • AWS Certified Solution Architect - Associate or SysOps Admin - Associate
  • AWS Certified Solution Architect - Professional (preferred)
