This is a one-year fixed term full-time position with benefits.

The person we’re looking for:  

PUBG Madison is looking for an experienced and versatile Senior Environment Artist to join our team. As an Environment Artist, you’ll be expected to build immersive and realistic assets and locations in Unreal Engine. Excellent artistic awareness of color, volume, space, surfacing and storytelling are crucial.

As an Environment Artist you’ll be responsible for diverse tasks such as building objects, structures, world-building immersive world. If you have a deep passion for creating game environments that not only look exceptional but offer an outstanding gameplay experience, we want to hear from you! This role reports to the Director of Art.

Responsibilities: 

  • World building game locations that support the project's narrative themes, game design goals, and technical performance needs
  • Produce games art assets such as props, materials, texture, modular kits, and foliage
  • Utilize Unreal's landscape tools to sculpt and paint terrain surfaces
  • Foster an inclusive and respectful culture of critique

A Typical Day May Include:

  • Contribute content to the build
  • Troubleshoot technical problems and integrate art assets
  • Work with QA and Leads to assess and fix bugs
  • Participate in team feedback, playtest and other team activities

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of real-time 3D experience in a related games position with at least 1 shipped title
  • Experience with Unreal 5, especially nanite and lumen workflows
  • Proficiency with DCC software such as Maya, Zbrush, Photoshop, Substance
  • A portfolio of current work demonstrating realistic PBR work

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience creating hard surface environments (malls, park benches) or general world building experience with assets
  • Skilled at photogrammetry
