
UI Artist (Fixed Term)

This is a six-month fixed term full-time position with benefits.
The person we’re looking for:
PUBG Madison is seeking a skilled User Interface (UI) Artist to take on a high-impact role.
Our ideal candidate is a results-driven professional with a strong sense of visual hierarchy, usability, and style. Your portfolio will showcase intuitive UI design alongside expressive illustrative visuals that enhance gameplay clarity and immersion. This will be a hands-on UI role, creating new interface elements, refining existing systems, and collaborating across disciplines to ensure a cohesive player experience. You will help deliver high-quality work on time while also cultivating a supportive and inclusive culture. This role reports to the Director of Art.
Responsibilities:
- Create high-quality, in-game UI assets such as HUD elements, menus, icons, and overlays that are clear, responsive, and align with the game’s visual identity.
- Work with stakeholders such as creative, director, gameplay engineering, and art direction to ensure UI is intuitive, performant, and supports the intended player experience.
- Iterate on UI designs based on playtest feedback, usability testing, and performance constraints.
- Foster an inclusive and respectful culture of critique.
- Participate in playtests and understand the product.
A Typical Day May Include:
- Contribute content to the build.
- Troubleshoot technical problems and integrate art assets.
- Work with QA and Leads to assess and fix bugs.
- Participate in team feedback, playtest and other team activities.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in UI/UX or game interface design in a related games position.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating game UI work, with examples of illustrative styles. (FPS experience a bonus.)
- Proficiency with design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, or similar.
- Experience implementing UI in Unreal Engine 5.
- Understanding of UX principles, player psychology, and readability in high-action environments.
- Experience using production tools such as Shotgrid, MIRO, Slack, Perforce, JIRA, Google Workspace, MS Office.
