This is a six-month fixed term full-time position with benefits.
The person we’re looking for:
PUBG Studios Madison is looking for an experienced Senior UX Designer to join the team in a high-impact role. The Senior UX Designer will collaborate with Design, Animation, Production, and Art stakeholders to bring the Creative Director's vision to life. You will continuously create, improve, and optimize in an iterative environment.If you've got the UX expertise to help create an incredible player experience for the next big thing, we'd love to see you apply! This role reports to the Gameplay Technical Director.
Responsibilities:
- Work in a cross-functional team of artists, designers, engineers, and others through all stages of development to make experiences clear, usable, and exciting.
- Design intuitive UI/UX structure and flow, with a focus on the best user experience possible, utilizing grey-boxing, wire-framing, flowcharts, mockups, and other prototyping techniques.
- Extract usability insights through self-guided play and validation, playtests, user research, team feedback, and community feedback.
- Actively participate in project peer playtests, seeking feedback on your own work and providing it for others.
- Collaborate across teams – You will take ownership of how we communicate information to the player, with an emphasis on player experience and comprehension.
Qualifications:
- 5-8+ years’ of experience in user experience design for console and PC games.
- Proven experience as a UX designer, with a focus on shooter or action-oriented video games.
- Strong portfolio showcasing successful UX design projects for video games.
- Proficiency with industry-standard design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, etc.
- Familiarity with game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine) and an understanding of technical constraints and opportunities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
- A track record of effective and proactive work in a remote environment is required for a remote hire.
A Typical Day May Include:
- Attend a cross-discipline stand-up with other developers.
- Estimate effort for change requests or bug fixes, actively assist in sprint planning.
- Gameplay planning or critique with other designers.
- Create wireframes and interactive feature demonstrations in Figma for UIUX features.
- Discuss ideas, improvements, or issues with other designers, engineers, and artists.
- A studio-wide play test.
