Business Development Representative
About The Role & You
The Business Development Representative (BDR) is a key player in our mission. BDRs increase our sales capacity by booking discovery conversations for our Account Executives. You'll play a vital role in helping local governments and organizations better connect with their communities. As a BDR, you'll be the first point of contact for potential customers who want to transform how they engage with citizens.
What You Will Do
- Share how our platform can help organizations gather meaningful public feedback
- Schedule discovery meetings for account executives, primarily through outbound calls, but also including email and social media
- Partner with Account Executives to create successful handoffs for qualified opportunities
- Respond quickly to inbound demo requests
- Research accounts for relevant contacts and contextual information
- Document interactions and maintain accurate records in our CRM system
Skills and Experience
Professional Qualifications
- Experience with outbound communications via phone and email
- Experience researching contacts and information for high value accounts
- Experience with detailed recordkeeping in a CRM (e.g. Salesforce)
- Experience meeting and exceeding targets or quotas
Personal Qualifications
- You are comfortable with internal software tools, such as G-Suite and Slack
- You are prepared to learn new technologies, including AI tools
- You are eager to make phone calls and able to maintain energy with prospects throughout the day

Compensation
This role pays a market-competitive base salary and is eligible to participate in the company’s annual bonus plan. This role includes variable compensation that is based on activity, discovery meetings attended and qualified opportunities created.
You may also be eligible for our equity incentive program that awards high-performing employees on an annual basis. These option grants are awarded at the CEO’s discretion to acknowledge employees who have made significant contributions to achieving our goals.
