The Credova Team at PublicSquare is looking for a Customer Onboarding Specialist! In this case, the customer will be our hundreds of prospective merchants as we welcome them (and onboard them) to our FinTech platform. The role will be focused on the successful integration of our Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) and digital payment solutions. This role is ideal for individuals who are eager to start a career in fintech, e-commerce, or payments, with a strong focus on customer support and onboarding.
The Onboarding Specialist will work closely with merchants throughout the onboarding process, helping them integrate payment solutions, troubleshoot common issues, and ensure a smooth go-live experience. You’ll also collaborate with internal teams to drive merchant adoption and improve onboarding efficiency.
Responsibilities
Merchant Support & Onboarding
- Guide merchants through the onboarding journey, from contract signature to full activation.
- Provide clear instructions on platform setup, compliance requirements, and integration steps.
- Respond to merchant inquiries via email, phone, and live chat, ensuring timely support.
Technical & Integration Assistance
- Assist merchants in connecting our payment solutions to their e-commerce platforms (BigCommerce, WooCommerce, Magento, etc.).
- Troubleshoot common integration and technical issues.
- Escalate complex cases when necessary.
- Work cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, and Product teams.
- Ensure a seamless merchant experience.
Process Management & Compliance
- Ensure all required documentation and compliance checks are completed before merchant activation.
- Educate merchants on best practices for maximizing BNPL/payment performance.
- Maintain detailed onboarding records in CRM systems (HubSpot, Zendesk, or similar).
Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
- Identify common onboarding challenges and recommend improvements.
- Contribute to internal knowledge base articles and training materials.
- Support team initiatives aimed at improving merchant activation rates and overall experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
- 0-2 years of experience in customer support, onboarding, fintech, payments, or e-commerce (internships or part-time experience welcome)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic understanding of e-commerce platforms (BigCommerce, WooCommerce, Magento) is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with CRM and support tools (HubSpot, Salesforce, Zendesk, etc.).
- Passion for fintech, payments, and helping businesses succeed.
