PublicSquare is America's leading commerce and payments ecosystem that serves customers and businesses that value life, family, and freedom. PublicSquare operates under three segments: Marketplace, Financial Technology, and Brands. The primary mission of the Marketplace segment is to help consumers “shop their values” and put purpose behind their purchases. PublicSquare leverages data and insights from the Marketplace to assess its customers’ needs and provide wholly-owned quality financial products and brands. PublicSquare’s Financial Technology segment includes Credova, a consumer financing and payments company. PublicSquare’s Brands segment consists of D2C companies, like EveryLife, a premium life-affirming baby products company.
Job Purpose
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develop and enhance our merchant-facing web applications. These applications play a crucial role in onboarding, acquiring, and servicing our business partners.
In this role, you will collaborate with a team of highly skilled engineers and work closely with business stakeholders to define requirements, deliver solutions, and support existing merchant customers. Our FinTech products enable merchants to process credit card payments, debit card transactions, ACH transfers, and buy-now-pay-later financing. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the merchant portal, which unifies all of our financial products and provides essential data and insights to our users.
This role requires a passion for writing clean, testable, and maintainable code. You should also be adaptable and willing to contribute to other projects as needed.
Your key job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Helping design, develop and deliver high quality solutions for our Merchant portal
- Contributing to the continued evolution of engineering standards within the team
- Working closely with business stakeholders to define and align on product requirements and roadmaps
- Helping grow and develop fellow engineers across the organization
- Constantly looking for opportunities to automate and improve aspects of the product and engineering processes
- Writing and maintaining developer documentation
Requirements
- A strong passion for automation and testing
- Strong proficiency with Javascript or Typescript
- Proficiency with React, we use NextJS
- Experience building and delivering cloud applications through CI/CD pipelines
- Experience working with business stakeholders to define requirements and turn requirements into process or software solutions
- Excellent writing and presentation communication skills
Desired Experience
- Experience developing APIs in .NET
- Experience building, deploying and maintaining SaaS products
- Experience building consumer-facing software that consumes RESTful interfaces.
- Experience building automated tests of any kind, we use Playwright
